What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1995 Thor Travel Trailer, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

DT: THE CONSUMER STATES HE IS HAVING ISSUES WITH TIRES BLOWING OUT . THE FIRST TIME WAS THREE YEARS AGO AND JUST RECENTLY THE CONSUMER HAD ANOTHER TWO TIRES BLOWOUT. THE FIRST TWO TIRES WERE LOAD RANGE C BY CARLISLE TIRES. THE SECOND TWO TIRES WERE LOAD RANGE D TIRES BY CARLISLE. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE WAS HAVING COMPLETE BLOWOUTS ON THESE TIRES. THE CONSUMER HAS TALKED TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS STORING THE TIRES IMPROPERLY. THE MANUFACTURER TOLD THE OWNER TO JACK UP THE TRAILER AND ROTATE THE TIRES ONCE A MONTH. CONSUMER HAS ALSO TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NOT ANY GOOD TRAILER TIRES THESE DAYS. THE SPEEDS WERE BETWEEN 60-65. THE TIRES BLEW WHILE PULLING THE TRAILER. DISCOUNT TIRES WANTED TO PUT MOUNT LOAD RANGE E ON THE SAME RIMS. ACCORDING TO THE CARLISLE REPRESENTATIVE THE LOAD RANGE E TIRES SHOULD NOT BE MOUNTED ON 15 INCH RIMS THAT ARE FIVE LUGGED. THE OWNER TOLD THIS TO THE DISCOUNT TIRES COMPANY AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT BEFORE, BUT THEY DID GO AHEAD AND ORDER THE TIRES THAT THE CONSUMER WANTED. DISCOUNT TIRE HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL TO THE CONSUMER CONCERNING HIS TIRE ISSUE. CARLISLE HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL TO THE CONSUMER AND HAS A POOR QUALITY OF TIRE. THE CONSUMER HAS BOUGHT A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRE AND CHANGED TO A PLY, NON RADIAL TIRE. THE LOCATION WAS ON THE RIGHT REAR, SECOND ONE WAS THE LEFT FRONT, THIRD WAS RIGHT FRONT AND THE FOURTH TIRE WAS THE LEFT FRONT. THE TIRE LINE IS ST 225/75R15 C, THE SECOND LINE IS ST 225/ D. THE IS NOT ANY INFORMATION ON THE MAILING ADDRESS ON THE VEHICLE DEALERSHIP OR PHONE NUMBER.*AK
