TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 TOYOTA PICK-UP 4X4. DURING BRAKE APPLICATION AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY, AND A MECHANIC CONCLUDED THAT THE FRAME AND THE A-ARM HAD FRACTURED BECAUSE OF CORROSION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED NOR HAS THE MANUFACTURER BEEN CONTACTED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 184,722.
AXLE SHAFT BEARING WORE OUT EXCESSIVELY, CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT REPAIRS WOULD BE MADE AT CONSUMER'S COST. CONSUMER BELIEVES THE PROBLEM TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, AND WANTS TOYOTA TO PAY FOR COST OF REPAIRS. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING THE CLUTCH GOES OUT, RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THE DELAER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES PRIOR TO THIS. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE HEAD GASKET BROKE ALLOWING THE RADIATOR TO EMPTY WHICH OVERHEATED THE ENGINE AND CRACKED THE RADIATOR IN SIX PLACES.
ENGINE GASKET BLEW AND CAUSED RADIATOR TO CRACK.
STEEL WHEEL RIM CRACKED.

TSB: Replacement certification labels (the vinyl label installed on the driver door or door post) and VIN plates (the metal plate riveted to dashboard) (see Figure 1) for most 1979 ? 2023 model year vehicles may be available provided the requests meet the criteria listed in this Service Bulletin. Follow the Procurement Procedure in this bulletin to request a replacement certification label or VIN plate.
