we have had multiple issues with this car since 70,000 miles. engine burning oil, no fix besides replacing it or keep adding oil. now check engine and check stability control system light are on. took to o'reilley to run codes and it threw all kinds of transmission codes.
Catastrophic engine failure due to piston pin bushings/connecting rod bushing failing. The engine was removed, disassembled, and inspected by an automotive machinist. There were no warning lamps or messages, only a knocking sound. The Toyota dealership said there was severe knocking from lower engine, and their remedy was a new engine.

The batter has been bad since the beginning. Even the original battery would right away leak and leave a lot of residue. My car since the beginning has told me there is something wrong with the power system. But Toyota keeps insisting that it’s just a random message. And that they don’t know why it says it. It’s concerning because I constantly need to get a new battery. The other thing is that. When I unlock my car. Either the passenger side or the drivers side doesn’t lock or unlock. It’s mostly scary for me because there are times that I’m not in the safest area and I struggle to open it manually. I also have a few other friends that have the same car as I do and same year and they are also having the same problem. And the third thing is the ac system just decided to only work when it wants to. It seems like it’s a faulty system.

The contact said his wife did not notice any warning lights. The contact stated that no more than 2 minutes after smelling smoke the entire vehicle was burning from inside the cabin. The vehicle was fully engulfed. The fire department and police were on the scene. The police filed a report, and the vehicle was extinguished, but the contact was not sure if water or foam was used. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact's insurance provider declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
Gm, we brought the car in April 2021. In addition to the purchase we have had issues first the car wouldn't start we brought a new one battery. Then we purchase new tires because the ones on the car at purchase was worn in which this car was certified car. Then this morning the car again wouldn't start the gas pedal sticking to floor and seems like fuel pump is acting up or some other issues . I contacted the dealership to have a complete diagnostic at no charge to have repairs fixed at no charge . Or I want a new car. Somethings going on need it to be addressed ASAP . Only had car 5 months

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER CENTRAL FLORIDA TOYOTA (11020 ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL, ORLANDO, FL 32837) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. NO SERVICES WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
VVT -I ENGINE MADE A RATTLE NOISE ON PASSENGER SIDE WHEN YOU DO A COLD START ESPECIALLY FIRST IN THE MORNING, BECAUSE THERE'S NO PRESSURE IN TO THE LOCKING PIN LOCATED INSIDE THE ACTUATOR WHICH CONNECTS TO THE CAMSHAFT, BECAUSE OF THIS THE HOUSING THE IMPUT AND THE OUTPUT ARE FREE TO MOVE RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER AND THIS CREATE WEAR INSIDE OF THIS HOUSING. IT JUST GOIN TO WEAR DOWN AND THEM YOU'RE NOT GONNA HAVE PROPER CONTROL OF THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING.

ME AND MY FAMILY FEEL UNSAFE ON THE ROAD THE CAR IS BRAND NEW NOTHING BUT ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT THE CAR EVERYTIME THEY SAY THEY FIX IT THE SAME PROBLEMS REOCCURS THE CAR TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING THE CAR HAS A RATTLING NOISE IN CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY I KEEP BRINGING THE CAR TO SERVICE
IN THE PROCESS OF BACKING THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE, WITH THE CAR IN REVERSE, APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES HAD NO AFFECT ON SLOWING THE CAR. AFTER ABOUT 69-80 FEET (ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY, MY LAWN AND MY NEIGHBOR'S LAWN) IT CRASHED INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S SHED. THERE WAS $6000 DAMAGE TO THE CAR , SOME BACK PAIN AND DESTRUCTION OF THE SHED.TWO MONTHS LATER, THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED BUT THE CAR WAS STOPPED BY PUTTING IT INTO FIRST NEUTRAL GEAR AND THEN PARK BEFORE ANY DAMAGE. THEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN FORWARD GEAR, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR UNTIL IT WAS PUT IN FIRST, NEUTRAL AND THEN PARK. ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALER TO REPRODUCE THIS CONDITION WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND THEREFORE COULD NOT BE CORRECTED.
