2025 Toyota Crown Problems

The vehicle intermittently experiences a loss of engine power or significant hesitation when accelerating from a stop or from a slow speed. This has occurred multiple times, including when accelerating from a complete stop and after making a low-speed turn. This creates a safety risk when pulling into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning into traffic, or accelerating from a stop or slow speed because the vehicle does not accelerate as expected, increasing the risk of a collision. We live in a rural areas where we pull onto high speed roads. My wife is scared to take the car after a close call when the car would not accelerate. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times for evaluation. However, the dealership has been unable to reproduce the condition and has returned the vehicle without repair. The issue remains unresolved and continues to occur intermittently. The dealer said they are seeing this in other Toyota Crowns and they don't have fix unless they can reproduce the problem. Multiple people have been in the car and experience the problem but the dealer simply say "we can't repeat it".

However, they never fix anything because they say they could not replicate and there was no known recall or TSB for the specific vehicle at the time.

The Pre-Collision Braking system is the function that failed. It is turned in a new vehicle by the Manufacture. On March 24, 2026 the Toyota dealer did a safety recall on the vehicle The accident occurred on [XXX] In a Parking Garage. I was pulling into an empty parking spot. I turned the steering wheel to align the car to the lines on the floor. My foot was lightly on the brake when the car accelerated forward to hit the garage wall. The vehicle did not show any alarms until after it hit the wall, if this happened while driving it could have hit a pedestrian causing serious harm. I opened a case ([XXX]) with Toyota Brand Engagement Center on April 2, 2026. They downloaded a copy of the vehicle’s software on April 27, 2026. On June 10, 2026, I received an Email from Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (Ronald I.) He wrote “Our inspection did not identify that this incident was the result of a concern in your vehicle’s PCS or throttle system.
