What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1993 Toyota Toyota Truck, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim
TRUCK FRAME IS RUSTED THROUGH. BEING REINFORCED WITH STEEL PIECES. THE CAB AND TRUCK BED WOBBLE WHILE BEING DRIVEN. BRAKE LINES ARE RUSTED ALSO. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING HOME FROM WORK I WENT TO USE THE BRAKES, THERE WERE NO BRAKES AS THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE I FOUND A METAL BRAKE LINE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS ASSEMBLED SO AS IT MADE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE METAL FUEL PRESSURE RETURN LINE. THE TWO LINES SUBSEQUENTLY WORE A GROOVE IN EACH OTHER WITH THE BRAKE LINE WEARING THROUGH THUS LETTING ALL THE APPLIED BRAKING PRESSURE TO ESCAPE FROM THE WORN HOLE IN THE LINE. I WAS AN ASE CERTIIFIED AUTO TECHNICIAN FOR MANY YEARS IN MY LIFE AND IT IS MY PROFESSIONAL DIAGNOSIS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED THIS WAY FROM THE FACTORY. THE FUEL PRESSURE RETURN LINE SHOWS SEVERE WEAR AND COULD PROVE TO BE A FIRE HAZARD IF IT RUPTURES. *AK

THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED. NLM
THE ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AT AROUND 65,000 TO 70,000 MILES. TOYOTA HAS A 5YR/60,000 MILE WARRANTY. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THEY FIND IT ACCEPTABLE FOR AN ENGINE TO BE REBULT OR REPLACED AT COST TO THE COSUMER OF $3000 TO $5000 DOLLARS. ANY HELP WITH THIS COSUMER PROBLEM WILL BE GREATLY APPRCIATED..
