2015 Trails West Classic Ii Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

NEARLY BRAND NEW (THREE MONTH OLD TRAILER) FRONT AXLE BROKE/SNAPPED OFF COMPLETELY ON RIGHT HAND SIDE CAUSING THE ENTIRE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ASSEMBLY TO COMPLETELY COME DETACHED. WHEEL FLEW ACROSS THE HIGHWAY. WAS HAULING A HORSE AT THE TIME WITH 5 PEOPLE IN THE HAULING VEHICLE. THERE IS NOTHING HOLDING THE FRONT AXLE IN PLACE. UPON CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER HEADQUARTERS, A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE NAMED "KURT" INSTRUCTED ME TO HAUL THE VEHICLE MYSELF TO HAVE WHAT HE CALLED A "CLEARLY DEFECTIVE AXLE/PART" 25 MILES NORTH TO BE REPAIRED. I ASKED IF IT WAS SAFE TO HAUL, HE RESPONDED "WELL, IT SHOULD BE". I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE HAULING A TRAILER ON A HIGHWAY WITH THE KNOWLEDGE IT WAS MISSING A WHEEL, LISTING TO ONE SIDE, WITH AN EXPOSED, UNSECURED AXLE. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER, I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WILL PICK IT UP AND HAUL IT TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. I UNDERSTAND THAT DEFECTS OCCUR, HOWEVER, THAT THE MANUFACTURER TOLD ME TO HAUL IT, WITH A BROKEN AXLE AND MISSING WHEEL, IS ALARMING.
