Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: Triumph Motorcycles America, LTD (Triumph) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Daytona 675 R and Speed Triple R motorcycles manufactured January 1, 2014, to April 1, 2015. The affected motorcycles may have been built with an improperly manufactured rear shock absorber. The nut on the damper rod for these shock absorbers may loosen, resulting in a loss of damping and the possible disassembling of the shock.
The risk: If the damper rod nut loosens, shock absorber performance would be affected, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Triumph will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear shock absorber, free of charge. The recall began on May 7, 2015. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is SB524.

WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED THE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME RIGHT BACK ON AND THE ABS. I TOOK BIKE TO ANOTHER BIKE SHOP THEY CLEARLY SAW SLOPPY WORK OIL LEAKS. I'M GOING TO FILE A PETITION WITH THE STATE COURT AND US COURTS TO HAVE ALL OPERATIONS HALT UNTIL AND INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN DONE BY NHTSA. 10-1-781 10-1-783 10-1-784 10-1-785 10-1-786 10-1-787 10-1-788 10-1-789 10-1-793 10-1-798

RECALL NO: 15V-255 MY TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLE HAD A VERY GENTLE SLIDE AS I WAS MAKING A TURN. THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC WEATHER CONDITIONS DRY NIGHT NO HURRY. AS I PICKED THE BIKE UP OFF THE GROUND I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED. I WAS TRYING TO FIND MY MISTAKE BUT I MADE NO ERRORS. I'VE BEEN RIDING FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. I CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO FILE A CLAIM BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BAD. I CALLED DEALER THEY CAME OUT TO HOUSE AND PICKED UP AND TOOK IN FOR REPAIRS. I FELT LIKE IS WAS MY FAULT SO I SHOULD JUST PAY FOR IT. SO I DID. 6 MONTHS LATER I RECEIVE A LETTER SAYING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BIKE SUSPENSION AND TO TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER RECEIVED A NOTICE ON THE RECALL AND THEY GAVE ME A CALL TO BRING BIKE BACK IN TO REPLACE PART. SINCE THAT 2014 ACCIDENT THE BIKE HAS ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE BLEW UP. THE DEALER CUT MY LIGHTS ON MY BIKE AND DIDN'T CONNECT THEM BACK UP. I LOOKED AT OIL WASHER ON OIL PLUG AND ITS BENT SCRAPPED UP LIKE THEY DIDN'T REPLACE THE ENGINE. I WONDER IF THEY REPLACED THE SHOCK. SO I ALSO LOOKED INTO TRIUMPH'S HISTORY WITH THIS SHOCK ABSORBER. THEY'VE HAD TROUBLE FOR YEARS ON THE 675. PEOPLE HAVE DIED DO THEY USED A 3RD PARTY TO MAKE THE SHOCK AND STILL HAVE IT WRONG. THERE'S A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FOR THE DEATH OF RIDER IN CA. THE MANUFACTURE KNEW THE PART WAS NOT STABLE AND PRODUCED PRODUCT ANYWAY. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF FILING MY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST MANUFACTURE. ACCORDING TO DATES OF RECALL MY BIKE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED BEFORE SOLD. I PLACED LED LIGHTS ON BIKE BECAUSE I WAS HIT BY A CAR IN 2013. THE DEALER DIDN'T THINK WAS IMPORTANT SO I WILL ALSO FILE FOR DAMAGES ON REPAIRS ON MY BIKE. I ALSO WAS RIDING AFTER DEALER FIXED BIKE AND THE GROUND WIRE ON THE BATTERY CAME A LOOSE LUCKY I WAS RIDING. THE BIKE HAS PROBLEMS GOING INTO GEARS. I SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH SUZUKI.
