What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Triumph Sprint ST 1050CCM, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

NEW 2006 TRIUMPH SPRINT ST HAS UNSAFE BRAKES. BRAKES ARE INADEQUATE TO STOP THE MOTORCYCLE EFFECTIVELY. I AM A RIDER WITH OVER 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE, OWN SEVERAL MOTORCYCLES. IN A HAZARDOUS SITUATION I NEEDED TO STOP QUICKLY, AND THE BRAKES WERE INEFFECTIVE. *NM
SINCE THE ONLINE FORM DIDN'T HAVE AN ENTRY FOR THIS BIKE, I HAVE INCLUDED THE PERTINENT INFORMATION HERE: YEAR: 2006 CATEGORY: MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURER: TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLES (AMERICA) LTD MAKE: TRIUMPH MODEL: SPRINT ST 1) OVER TIME I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE LEVER REQUIRED MORE TRAVEL TO ACTUATE THE BRAKES. 2) NEARLY COLLIDED WITH A TRUCK WHICH PULLED IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE I PULLED THE FRONT BRAKE LEVER AND IT CAME COMPLETELY BACK TO THE HAND GRIP WITHOUT ANY BRAKE FORCE APPLIED. 3) RETURNED THE BIKE TO THE DEALER WHO BLED THE FRONT BRAKES. 4) PROBLEM PERSISTS, REQUIRING BRAKE BLEEDING EVERY OTHER WEEK. *JB *AK
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
