The defect: Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2016, 2019, and 2021 Utilimaster Velocity vehicles. Water may enter an improperly sealed strobe light and cause a short circuit.
The risk: An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Owners are advised to remove the control module for the strobe light. The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed July 17, 2026. Another notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 26-06.

The defect: Shyft Group is recalling certain 2021 Utilimaster Velocity vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information placard incorrectly states a seating capacity of one, although the actual seating capacity is two. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
The risk: Incorrect seating capacity information may cause the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will install new placards, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 17, 2021. Owners may contact Shyft Group customer service at 1-800-582-3454. Shyft Group's number for this recall is 21-16.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
