2006 Vespa GTS Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2006 Vespa GTS. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. THE FUEL PUMP IN MY 2006 VESPA GTS 250 STOPPED FUNCTIONING UNEXPECTEDLY. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER CASES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. MINE QUIT IN TRAFFIC WHICH SET ME UP FOR A BAD ACCIDENT IF IT WERE NOT FOR MY ABILITY TO RIDE A MOTORCYCLE HAD NOT SAVED ME. PLEASE GET THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. THANKS! *TR

THE MUFFLER ON MY GT200 HAS A EXHAUST PROBLEM WHERE THE EXHAUST IS EATING THOUGH THE COLLAR. THIS HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS INJURIES AND IN MANY INSTANCES BECAUSE THE NEXT CLOSEST PART TO THE COLLENT COLLAR IS THE BRAKE CABLE. THE RIDER IS LEFT WITH NO BREAKS. WHILE VESPA USA IS PREPARING A RECALL FOR THE GS 250 THE IDENTICAL MUFFLER AND COLLAR IS ON THE GT200. YET VESPA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS SYSTEMIC DESIGN FAILURE. *TR
