2009 Victory Kingpin Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

2009 POLARIS/VICTORY KINGPIN LOW: PURCHASED NEW 11MAY2010 WITH 4 MILES. ON 14MAY2010 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STOPPED BRIEFLY CAUSING THE MOTORCYCLE TO BRIEFLY AND QUICKLY SLOW CONSIDERABLY, CAUSING A "LURCHING" FEEL. I THOUGHT IT WAS POSSIBLE LOW ON GAS AND FILLED IT WITH GAS. ON 15MAY2010 IT DID THIS AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES, USUALLY IN EARLY 1ST OR EARLY 2ND GEAR. ON THIS DATE THE ENGINE ALSO BEGAN SURGING AS THE CLUTCH WAS ENGAGED AND THE MOTORCYCLE CAME TO A STOP. IT WOULD SURGE APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES AS IT CAME TO AN IDLE. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (VAN WALL MOTORSPORTS IN ANKENY, IA) AND AFTER A WEEK IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS SOMETHING WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX. POLARIS HAS AUTHORIZED THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW ELECTRICAL HARNESS - WHICH IS EVIDENTLY AN ENTIRELY NEW ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR
