2006 Viking Legend Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Viking Legend, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I HAVE CALLED THE VIKING MANUFACTURER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. PARTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SHIPPED BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS. I HAVE CALLED THE RV DEALER IN BAY CITY, MICHIGAN AND THEY HAVE RECEIVED NO PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. I CALLED THE SAFETY HOT LINE ON 10-6-05 AND THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH ME ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY FAILED TO CALL ME BACK. I AGAIN CALLED THE VIKING MANUFACTURER ON 10-14-05 AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. THEY WILL LET ME KNOW AND THEY AGAIN FAILED TO CONTACT ME. STILL NO PARTS RECEIVED FOR THE RECALL. I STOPPED IN THE BAY CITY, MICHIGAN DEALER ON 10-15-05 AND THEY TELL ME THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS MORE INFORMATION, WHICH THEY SAY THEY SUPPLIED TO THEM WEEKS BEFORE. WHILE THIS IS GOING ON, MY POP UP CAMPER BROKE AND THE TOP FELL DOWN! THIS COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY HURT ONE OF US, HAD WE BEEN IN THERE WHEN IT COLLAPSED! I CALLED THE SAFETY HOTLINE AGAIN ON 10-19-05 AND THEY TOLD ME TO FILE A WRITTEN COMPLAINT WITH YOU ON THE WEBSITE. *JB

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
