The defect: Western Trailer Company (Western) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chip B-Train trailers manufactured December 29, 2014, to February 26, 2015, equipped with certain Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators. The affected vehicles may experience brake drag due to an improperly seated diaphragm in the brake chamber.
The risk: Brake drag may result in a wheel end fire.
The remedy: Western has notified the affected owners and the brake chambers have already been replaced, free of charge. Owners may contact Western customer service at 1-888-344-2539.

Safety recall

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
