TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 WORKHORSE P30 RECREATIONAL VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE RACKING ABILITY SEIZED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TRAVELED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FOLLOWING MORNING EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. UPDATED 1/5/16 *CN

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V186000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,085. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2002 DAMON DAYBREAK RV WITH A 2002 WORKHORSE P30 CHASSIS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND NOTICED A BURNING ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS BOILING AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE BRAKE FLUID WAS REPLACED, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGE-LIKE WHEN DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN THEN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE BRAKES AND CALIPERS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V080000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE WARNING) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. HOWEVER, HE WAS INFORMED HIS RV WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
