What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2011 Yamaha YW125, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Fuel system
Reports naming fuel storage or delivery — tanks, pumps, lines, injectors and fuel leaks.
From owner reports, verbatim
FAULTY FUEL PUMP CUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING NO START.
THE FUEL PUMP UNPREDICTABLY STOPS WORKING AND RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO MOVE. THE FUEL PUMP CUT OUT ON ME AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE SCOOTER. THIS CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME ON A 3 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. THE FUEL PUMP HAS CUT OUT ON ME IN TRAFFIC MORE THAN 10 TIMES. PROBLEM IS FIXED ONLY BY WAITING. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 15 MINUTES, SOMETIMES IT TAKES 24 HOURS. I WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND YAMAHA REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM FOR FREE. I SPOKE WITH YAMAHA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL. I TOLD THEM THAT THEY SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE, AS THIS 2011 YAMAHA ZUMA IS HAVING FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS EXACTLY LIKE THE PROBLEMS THE 2009 MODELS HAD. NO WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, NOR DOES THE ECU SEND AN ERROR CODE, BUT NEVERTHELESS THE FUEL PUMP CANNOT BE HEARD PRESSURIZING THE SYSTEM. *TR
