The defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.
The risk: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. The remedy: Altec will provide instructions for owners to inspect the mounting frame side plates for cracks. If cracks are found, Altec will repair the side plates as necessary, or provide a repair kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in April 2025. During an HC Desorb cycle, the vehicle's idle will rapidly rise causing an increase in pump flow. The increased pump flow can result in the moving speed of the boom changing.
The risk: The change in boom speed can result in unintended positioning of the boom, increasing the risk of injury.

The risk: If the tow hitch is overloaded, the hitch may fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

The defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2003-2019 Altec TA45, TA50, TA55, TA60, L37, L39, LRV, LR7, A-T40C, T40P and AP45 vehicles equipped with air-cushioned pintle hitch and/or accessory air components. The accessories utilizing chassis air supply may be missing pressure protection valves. The accessory lines may not prevent service brake line pressure loss due to failure or leakage in the accessory air system. Additionally, the air cushioned pintle hook may have been connected to the incorrect air lines. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
The risk: Loss of service brake pressure can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Altec will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the pressure protection installation and repair any unit that does not pass inspection, free of charge. The risk: An overloaded receiver tube could detach, increasing the risk of a crash.
