The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2025 AT Series, 2021-2025 AN Series Aerial Device, 2020-2026 TA Series Aerial Device, 2021 L Series Aerial Device, 2021 LR Series Aerial Device, 2023-2025 AM Series Aerial Device, and 2024-2025 AA Series Aerial Device vehicles. The ground level emergency stop (E-stop) may not stop hydraulic functions of the machine when the machine is in ePTO mode.
The risk: Hydraulic functions that do not immediately stop when the ground level E-stop is pressed, increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will inspect the units and test to verify the E-stop function. If the wiring is found to be incorrect, it will be updated, free of charge. Letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed on July 8, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3322.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 1999-2022 L Series and LR Series aerial devices. A hydraulic hose may have been installed between the cylinder port and load-holding valve instead of metallic tubing, which can result in a damaged hydraulic hose and failure of the load-holding feature.
The risk: Failure of the load-holding feature can result in unintended movement of the platform or load, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will inspect the units for a hydraulic hose and replace it with specified metallic tubing, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 11, 2023. Owners may contact Altec customer service 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3090.

STRUCTURE:BODY; SUSPENSION

Altec has updated maintenance and operator’s manuals for all LR7, LR8, and LRV units to bring better visibility to the inspection of the outrigger/subbase connection. These welds are critical to the longevity of the aerial device.

EQUIPMENT

In January 2023, Altec made production changes to the LR8 leveling yoke retention assembly. The upgraded system includes a shoulder bolt and lock nut. The shoulder bolt and lock nut can be removed and reused and have a higher shear strength than the original retention method. Altec has developed an upgraded retention kit for the leveling yoke of the affected units in the field.

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Navistar that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety, compliance, or emissions in a vehicle you possess that is equipped with Altec equipment. Navistar has issued Recall 23517 (NHTSA Recall No. 23V397) to remedy the defect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford Motor Company that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety, compliance, or emissions in a vehicle you possess that is equipped with Altec equipment. Certain 2020 to 2022 MY Super Duty vehicles built February 2019 through June 2022 and 2021 to 2023 MY H567 Med Truck F-650, F-750 vehicles with 6.7L engines built May 2019 through June 2022 may be equipped with an improperly functioning onboard diagnostics (OBD) system that is not meeting regulatory requirements and is equipped with a powertrain calibration that eventually can lead to tailpipe emissions that exceed the standard.
