The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025 LR8 Series vehicles. The collar on the lockbolts for the shear plates may have been improperly formed during assembly, resulting in bolt failure.
The risk: Shear plate lockbolt failure can result in separation of the elevator sub-base and truck frame, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will inspect the lockbolts and and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 23, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3266.

STRUCTURE:BODY; SUSPENSION

Altec has updated maintenance and operator’s manuals for all LR7, LR8, and LRV units to bring better visibility to the inspection of the outrigger/subbase connection. These welds are critical to the longevity of the aerial device.

SIL-3267

Altec has received notification from Monarch, the cylinder manufacturer, that one upper boom drive system cylinder, which carries the boom assembly load during operation, has been identified as originating from a suspect lot. Altec determined that the cylinder from the suspect lot has reached the field on an LR8 model aerial device built between September 2025 and November 2025. Monarch has asked that this cylinder be located and replaced to remove the suspect lot.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Altec has learned that the affected units could experience issues with the lanyard detection interlock system being out of adjustment due to the improper installation of the fiber optic cable on the transmitter, as well as signal interference from nearby transmission lines. These defects have been resolved by implementing adjustment criteria, improving cable installation, addressing interference issues, and updating the firmware.
