Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; SUSPENSION:REAR:SHOCK ABSORBER

The defect: Eldorado National-Kansas (ENK) is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 Amerivan Toyota Sienna vans manufactured February 17, 2011, through June 25, 2013. The fuel filler neck may contact the left rear shock absorber. This could damage the fuel filler neck.
The risk: If the shock makes contact with the fuel filler neck, it could damage the neck allowing it to leak gasoline vapors and result in a fire or explosion causing personal injury.
The remedy: ENK will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the shock absorbers and add a spacer, free of charge. The recall began on July 12, 2013. Owners may contact Eldorado National-Kansas at 1-800-955-9086.

WHEN STEERING RIGHT OR LEFT MIDWAY AND THEN GOING BACK TO STEERING'S ORIGINAL POSITION DURING MOTION, A CLUCKING OR KNOCK IS FELT ON THE STEERING. MY VEHICLE IS AROUND 40K MILES AND THE ISSUE EMERGED FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS (AROUND MID FEB 2016). NOT SURE IF THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO WORSEN OVERTIME TO A POINT WHERE STEERING MALFUNCTION DURING VEHICLEUR MOTION. I CALLED DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DO NOT FIND IT AS A RECALL; HOWEVER, I NOTICED OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS LISTED SIMILAR ISSUE ON THIS WEBSITE'S COMPLIANT WEBSITE.
