2012 Aprilia Mana 850 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE FREEWAY ON MY MOTORCYCLE AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BIKE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND KEEP IN THE LANE. I WAS IN A HIGH WIND AREA AND THOUGHT IT MUST BE THAT BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE BRAND NEW AND HAD LESS THAN 100 MILES ON THEM. ABOUT 2 MILES LATER IT FELT LIKE I HIT SOMETHING METAL THOUGH THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE LANE AND A FEW SECONDS LATER IT FELT LIKE I HIT SOMETHING AGAIN, WHICH I REALIZE NOW WAS PROBABLY THE TIRE COMING OFF THE RIM. A FEW SECONDS AFTER THAT I WAS ON THE FINAL CURVE LEADING UP TO THE BENICIA MARTINEZ BRIDGE AND I HEARD AN AUDIBLE BANG FROM MY LEFT SIDE AND FELT PRESSURE AGAINST MY LEFT LEG AND THE BIKE WAS FORCED INTO THE LEFT LANE AND INTO TRAFFIC WHO NARROWLY AVOIDED ME. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE BIKE AND PULL IT OFF TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD ON THE LEAD UP TO THE BENICIA MARTINEZ BRIDGE. THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT AND OFF THE RIM. PRIOR TO THE BLOWOUT I HAD NOT HIT ANYTHING AND THE BIKE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. I WAS ABOUT 30 MINUTES INTO MY TRIP. THE TIRES WERE BOTH BRAND NEW AND HAD BEEN MOUNTED AND BALANCED BY A MOTORCYCLE SHOP THAT IS WELL REGARDED IN THE AREA.
