AFTER COMPLETING A TURN ONTO CITY STREET IT JUST QUIT AS IF YOU HIT THE KILL SWITCH. I WAS 3 MILES FROM HOME AND IT DID THIS AGAIN TWICE BEFORE I REACHED HOME. IT FAILED TO START AGAIN AT THE GATED ENTRANCE. AT THIS POINT WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART IT HAD LOST ALL COMPRESSION. CLEAR TO ME THAT THE RECALL ON THAT ISSUE WAS THE PROBLEM. I PUSHED IT THE REST OF THE WAY HOME.

HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR REPAIRS WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. THEY CLAIM IT'S A COMPUTER ISSUE. THEY FAIL TO REPAIR IT. FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT UPDATE AFTER A FILLUP. IF THE GAUGE INDICATED 1/2 BEFORE FUELING, IT WILL CONTINUE TO INDICATE 1/2 AFTER FILLING UP. SOMETIMES IT WILL INDICATE SOME CHANGE, BUT SELDOM ACCURATELY. EXAMPLE: THE UNIT IS FILLED UP, BUT INDICATES 3/4. JUST HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY. BMW DENIES THIS IS HAPPENING. *TR

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle âÂÂdischarged batteryâ complaints.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
