1991 Chevrolet C/K Pickups Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 6 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1991 Chevrolet C/K Pickups. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. MY WINDSHIELD MOTOR WENT OUT QUIT AWHILE AGO. I DRIVE WITH NO WIPERS AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY COME ON SOMETIMES, AND WHEN IT SEEMS TO NOT WORK IS WHEN IT RAINS. I WONDERED IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE MOTOR, OR A DEFECT THAT CAN GET IT REPLACED. ALSO MY AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT WORKING FOR THE PAST YEAR, AND BLINKING WITH THE A/C. LIGHT ON. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *NM

I HAVE A 1991 CHEVROLET C/K 1500, 4WD, EXTENDED CAB TRUCK PAINTED WHITE AND THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF TRUCKS IN OUR AREA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MODEL YEARS 1987 TO 1993, WHITE CHEVROLET C/K 1500 AND 2500 TRUCKS, BOTH 2WD AND 4WD ARE AFFECTED. THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TOLD ME THAT HE WAS AWARE OF A PROBLEM WITH THE WHITE TRUCKS BUT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO RE-PAINT THEM AS THEY WERE TOO OLD. *AK

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
