Our database contains 6 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1991 Chevrolet C/K Pickups, most frequently naming the visibility, body & structure and heating & air conditioning categories.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Complaints grouped by the component NHTSA recorded
Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.
No recalls in our database for this model year
That does not guarantee a specific vehicle is unaffected — recalls are issued against VINs, and new campaigns are announced regularly. Check a VIN on NHTSA.gov.

WIPER MOTOR DOES NOT WORK WHEN EXPOSED TO CONDENSATION, I.E., WORKS WHEN DRY BUT DOESN'T WORK WHEN RAINING. *TR
FRONT CROSS MEMBER THAT HOLDS UP THE FUEL TANK RUSTED (NOT THE STRAP) CAUSING THE FUEL TANK TO DROP. HAD TO REPLACE THE CROSS MEMBER. *JB
MY WINDSHIELD MOTOR WENT OUT QUIT AWHILE AGO. I DRIVE WITH NO WIPERS AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY COME ON SOMETIMES, AND WHEN IT SEEMS TO NOT WORK IS WHEN IT RAINS. I WONDERED IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE MOTOR, OR A DEFECT THAT CAN GET IT REPLACED. ALSO MY AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT WORKING FOR THE PAST YEAR, AND BLINKING WITH THE A/C. LIGHT ON. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *NM
I HAVE A 1991 CHEVROLET C/K 1500, 4WD, EXTENDED CAB TRUCK PAINTED WHITE AND THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF TRUCKS IN OUR AREA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MODEL YEARS 1987 TO 1993, WHITE CHEVROLET C/K 1500 AND 2500 TRUCKS, BOTH 2WD AND 4WD ARE AFFECTED. THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TOLD ME THAT HE WAS AWARE OF A PROBLEM WITH THE WHITE TRUCKS BUT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO RE-PAINT THEM AS THEY WERE TOO OLD. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 40MPH & VEHICLE WOULD DRIFT WHILE MOVING, WOULD TRY TO CORRECT STEERING & THE WHEEL WOULD JERK IN HAND. ITS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. *AK
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
