1996 Chevrolet Chevrolet Truck Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE RTHAND FRONT SEAT IS FLIPPED FOWARD BY A LEVER ON THE SEAT BACK ALLOWING THE SEAT TO MOVE FOWARD ABOUT 10 INCHES FOR ACCESS TO THE BACK SEAT. DURNING THE PAST MONTHS IT HAD BECOME HARDER TO LOCK THE SEAT UNTIL IT WAS IMPOSIBLE. DURNING THIS TIME THE TRUCK WOULD BE DRIVEN THINKING THE SEAT WAS LOCKED UNTILL, UNDER BRAKING THE SEAT WOULD SLIDE FOWARD. WHEN I MADE AN INQUIRE TO THIS PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FIRST ONE THEY HAD HEARD OF. YET, MONDAY, 11/09/1998, WHEN I LEFT THE PU AT SEQUOIA CHEVROLET TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED THEY WERE DOING THE SAME REPAIR TO ANOTHER XCPU. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS ITEM THAT IS KEEPED IN STOCK. SINCE I PUT THIS REPAIR OFF BECAUSE OF COST/170.00/ I WOUNDER HOWMINI MORE PEOPLE HAVE PUT THIS OFF.
