2019 Chevrolet Corvette Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Well known and documented failure of 2015-2019 Corvette ZO6 and Grand Sport wheels cracking prematurely due to poor manufacturing process. General Motors/Chevrolet has already publicly admitted liability to avoid court cases already filed. They agreed to offer extended warranty to owners of affected vehicles in 2024, offering full replacement cost of defective wheels. They assigned a company, Analytics Consulting LLC of [XXX] , to administer the claim process. I received my claim form in July of 2024. I filled out and supplied all required documentation on August 20, 2024, they later acknowledged receipt August 22, 2024. All claim forms were required to be sent by January 25, 2025. They informed me by phone call that they would not begin processing claims until March 1, 2025. All through the Summer of 2025, after several phone calls, that no information would be released as to the completion of processed claims until all claims had been completed. No time line given or offered. To date there has been no other information or updates on when the claims will be paid. I have filed a claim with the State of Georgia Attorney Generals office, they were unable to help. I have gone to the local ABC news station where they did a story on the issue, no resolution. This is a national issue for all owners of the affected vehicles. There have been many articles and videos published regarding the issue. Analytics Consulting is holding those with a legitimate claim hostage. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Two of the wheels of my 2019 Corvette have cracked. GMC has turned this issue over to Analytics Consulting LLC to reimburse those owners that have had a problem with cracked wheels. I submitted a claim for one of the wheels, in July of 2025 and have yet to hear from them. In the mean time I had another wheel crack but I can not claim that one because it's beyond the date they set. I contacted GMC and their response was they couldn't do anything for me. My point in this whole matter is that I've had two wheels crack but I still have two that might crack. GMC admits to defective wheels and yet there was never a recall. They are playing Russian roulette with Corvette wheels that are on the road daily. I've had costly repair bills for wheels that were defective when GMC put them on my car. These wheels could crack at any point while I'm driving or God forbid when my wife is driving. She doesn't want to ride in the car anymore because she feels it's unsafe. I can't sell it because I would have to affirm that these wheels might crack. Who would buy my car? The value of my dream car has plummeted. I'd like reimbursed for the two I've already paid for and all four wheels replaced with wheels that have been tested and new ones that are proven to be safe. Is it too much to ask GMC to build safe cars? They say it is important to them that the customer satisfaction and safety is utmost. I'm asking them to live up to that so I need your help to see that they do.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle shook and shuddered abnormally. The contact stated that the failure had been constant since purchasing the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact believed that the shudder was due to the high-performance engine. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact stated that during an alignment at a dealer, the service technician informed the contact that the shudder was a known failure caused by the transmission fluid, causing the torque converter to shudder whenever the accelerator pedal was depressed. The technician provided the contact information on TSB: 19-NA-018. The contact stated that the vehicle had not been diagnosed by the service technician using a diagnostic machine. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

A 2019 Corvette with 3,400 miles began to demonstrate a transmission torque converter shutter. This became rapidly and progressively worse causing driving to resemble being on a washboard road surface. The servicing dealer was familiar with the problem with this transmission and did resolve the issue with an expensive transmission fluid flush and exchange.

My vehicle has been a legacy gmc dealership in Slidell la for three months now waiting on a replacement engine from a factory failure. And I have no clue when and if I will ever get it back because all General Motors is says is that the engine is on back order and from what I’m reading they discontinued this engine back in 2023. They haven’t helped me with anything I been paying my car note and renting a vehicle at my cost and they’re doing nothing. And I can’t get them to give me any info on if or when this will get fixed . Meanwhile, this is putting a huge financial burden on me and my family and GM doesn’t give [XXX][ about it. Companies like this be allowed to just walk over people with no record of their actions. Thank you for any help with this. I’ve reached out to everyone and no one will help. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2019 CORVETTE ZR1. I WAS DRIVING WHEN I HEARD A LOUD RATTLE SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT BUMPER AREA. DURING THIS TIME THE FRONT END OF MY CAR BECAME HARD TO CONTROL. I SLOWED DOWN, PARKED THE CAR AND INSPECTED THE FRONT END. UPON INSPECTION I SAW THAT MY FRONT SPLITTER HAD NEARLY DISCONNECTED FROM MY CAR. I TRIED TO DRIVE SLOWLY AND MAKE IT HOME BUT THE SPLITTER WAS SCRAPING AND I DIDN'T FEEL THAT IT WAS SAFE. I ALSO DIDNT WANT TO CAUSE ANY MORE DAMAGE. UPON INSPECTION FROM A SHOP IT WAS FOUND THAT THE CENTER SUPPORT BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE FRONT SPLITTER ON PROPERLY WAS NEVER INSTALLED ON MY DURING PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION. AFTER SPEAKING WITH SEVERAL OTHER ZR1 OWNERS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO WE NOW BELIEVE THAT SOME CHEVY DEALERS ARE FORGETTING TO PUT THIS CENTER SUPPORT BRACKET ON DURING PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION WHICH WE BELIEVE CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WE HAVE INFORMED CHEVY ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED.

THE LAP-SHOULDER BELT WILL NOT REMAIN IN THE SEAT BELT GUIDE AS IT SHOULD. THEREFOR THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT FIT OVER THE SHOULDER AND ACROSS THE CHEST OF SMALLER ADULTS OR OLDER CHILDREN AS REQUIRED TO KEEP THEM SAFE IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. THE SEAT BELT COMES OUT OF THE GUIDE WHEN MOVING AND AT TIMES WHEN STATIONARY. THE GAP IN THE GUIDE IS TOO LARGE. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE SO PREVALENT THAT AN AFTER MARKET CLIP IS ON THE MARKET TO HOLD THE SEAT BELT INTO PLACE.
