1990 Chevrolet P30 Problems
Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1990 Chevrolet P30, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

RE: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 91V123000 FOR MY 1990 CHEVROLET P3 I HAVE SPENT SEVERAL DAYS ON THE PHONE WITH GM AND GOTTEN NO HELP. MY VEHICLE IS AT A GM DEALERSHIP IN PHOENIX AND I AM TOLD GM ISN'T AUTHORIZING THEM TO HANDLE THIS SAFETY RECALL, DUE TO AGE. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER. HOW CAN GM DO THIS TO ME? IS IT LEGAL? MY P# IS A MOTOR HOME AND IS AT MIDWAY CHEVROLET, COMMERCIAL TRUCK SERVICE CENTER IN PHOENIX. IT'S SITTING THERE AND I'M NOT SURE IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT I'M BEING REFUSED THE SERVICE PER THE RECALLS. I CAN NOT FIND ANY HELP FROM GM CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AS IT'S AN OUTSOURCED NUMBER TO PHILIPPINES AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SI (SERVICE INFORMATION) SYSTEM WHICH ALLOWS THEM ACCESS TO THIS OLDER VIN. THEY AND MOST DEALERS ARE USING GLOBAL CONNECT LOG IN AND IT DOESN'T SHOW UP. *TR
CONSUMER PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WON'T RELEASE UNLESS THE CONSUMER PUT VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, WILL NOT RELEASE WHEN PUT IN REVERSE. THERE IS A LEAKAGE, AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LOCKS UP. *AK

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
