1998 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Interior & seats Problems
Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA
Data refreshed
Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WHILE ADJUSTING MY POSITION IN THE DRIVER SEAT AFTER ENTERING THE TRUCK I FELT THE BACK OF THE SEAT ON THE RIGHT SIDE GIVE WAY. IT IS NOT BENT, THE SEAT FRAME IS BROKEN OR HAS COME LOOSE INSIDE. THE SEAT LEANS TO THE RIGHT PUTTING ME IN AN AWARD AND UNSAFE POSITION. I ONLY DRIVE IT WHEN I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. I AM 6'1" 214 LBS. SEAT IS OTHERWISE IN GOOD CONDITION.

I HAVE A 1998 CHEVY K1500 PICK-UP THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME IT HAS GONE TO THE GARAGE FOR A ROUGH SHIFT, SLIPPAGE DURING SHIFT I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND THEIR ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE, SECOND THE DOOR HANDLES BREAK VERY EASY ON THIS YEAR OF TRUCK INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. THE BAD PART ABOUT THAT IS FOR ANY REASON YOU GET OUT AND THE KIDS ARE IN THE TRUCK AND THE DOOR CLOSES YOU AREN'T ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE VEHICLE, CHEVY DOESN'T WANT TO HERE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY IT WOULD PROBABLY COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. *LA
