Automatic Transmission failure
TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING WEARD CONTACTED DEALERSHIP. THEY STATE THIS UNIT IS NOT UNDER RECALL BUT IT IS AN 6L80 AND IT IS ALL OVER YOU TUBE AND THE INTERNET ABOUT FAILURES THAT START WITH THE PM VALVE AND/OR THE TORQUE CONVERTER HOUSING THAT IS STAMPED BUT MOUNTING BRACKETS ARE WELDED TO IT CAUSING HARDED STEEL TO MEET STAMPED STEEL CAUSING FRICTION AND WEAR THAT POLUTES THE REMAINDER OF THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSES FAILURE BEFORE 100000 MILES; USUALLY JUST AFTER 50000ISH. WHEN TRANSMISSION FAILS IT CAN CAUSE LOSS OF PROPULSION OR COLLION.
There was fuel in the engine oil. Had to replace all of the injectors and the high pressure fuel pump. The shop I had it done at said this is known issue on these trucks - why isnt something being done?
The high pressure fuel pump has failed at only 60,000 miles. My Safety along with the safety of others has been put at risk from major loss of power... not safely stopping the vehicle due to fuel pressure malfunction. Certified Chevy Dealer diagnosed high pressure fuel pump Come to find out from the dealer... a warning sign was the electric start button not working. Engine light did NOT come on till after the truck had major power loss/ misfire/ stall.
While driving my 2018 Silverado, the 5.4L, 327c.i. engine began idling very rough, shaking and periodically stalling. The check engine light began blinking and it threw codes PO308 & PO301. After compression test & new plugs/wires, it was found that the injectors had open circuits on injector #'s 1 & 8. The only way to replace the injector is through the bank. In this case both banks 1 & 2 were affected. Cylinder #1 is through bank #1 & cylinder #8 is through bank # 2. After removing the intake manifolds and injectors, it was found that the injectors were not providing fuel to the engine causing a misfire on 2 random cylinders #1 & #8. Called the dealer to order parts and discovered they have already been superseded. Original part# is 12698484 and it has been superseded by part# 12710481. Then injectors were replaced & new intake manifold gasket installed w/ proper torque. After repair completed and engine tested, the problem was resolved. Repair shop's invoice will be attached for reference.
The plastic fuel pump module (GM part # 13510918) has cracked. The top flange that rests against the top of the fuel tank has an approximately 3 inch crack. The indications were a failed EVAP Check Engine Light PO442 (Small leak). The vehicle had less than 35K miles at the time. Contacted dealer who stated that it was a common problem. Also contacted GM but they provided no assistance. This crack could lead to fuel leaking from the top of the tank. The issue required the fuel pump module assembly to be replaced.
The component or system that failed or malfunctioned, FUEL PUMP ( METAL FLAKING IN FUEL SYSTEM ) has caused 1 or more CYLINDERS to FAIL. It is available for inspection upon request. My safety as well as the safety of many other motorists was put at high risk due to the fact that I had a 40ft. trailer hitched to the truck at the time the engine power was reduced. thus causing my vehicle to loose power while driving on a major highway. The 2018 Chevy Silverado was diagnosed by the Chevrolet Dealership doing-business-as ASCHENBACH CHEVROLET located at 925 East Main Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. The vehicle has not been inspected by the Manufacturer. When pressing down on the gas pedal, the truck would not accelerate as normal, then a message appeared on the dash-screen ENGINE LOOSING POWER. MAJOR ENGINE FAILURES & REPRODUCED REPAIRS: **JANUARY 2022 ENGINE REBUILT/REPLACED - Seguin Chevy Dealership **APRIL 2022 FAILED KNOX SENSORS - POWER REDUCED - Rush Elgin Chevy **NOVEMBER 2022 ENGINE REPLACEMENT, FAILED FUEL INJECTORS, GLO PLUGS & COOLANT LEAK - Robbins Chevy Dealership ** SEPTEMBER 2023 FAILED FUEL PUMP, FUEL INJECTORS - Aschenbach Chevy
UNKNOWN I had performed preventative maintenance this evening, fuel filter replacement and noticed after I pulled the fuel filter from the housing and tipped housing back upright, there was what appeared to be brass/gold metal shavings in the bottom of the housing in a little puddle of fuel. If there is metal shavings in the filter, that is a problem. Not sure if it would be fuel pump, or lift pump. Truck runs fine, I do get some hesitation from time to time, but not always. No warning lights/indicators, no water in fuel indicator, or presence of water in fuel. I am worried about safety if metal shavings contaminate entire fuel system, plugging injectors shutting down the truck on the interstate.
Service Trailer Brake System message appears and disappears constantly, check engine light.
Faulty injector connectors get a loose connection and make truck shutter and check engine light come on . This has happened 3 times already and had to replace one faulty plug . This is all over the internet from other l5p owners. Yet gmc want do anything
The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on three separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after the first failure and called the dealer; he was instructed to keep driving the vehicle and that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The second time, the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer and the fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure occurred a third time. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local farm and called the manufacturer twice for roadside assistance. The vehicle was not towed to the dealer and remained on the farm. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
HEARING UNUSUAL POWERTRAIN WINNING , LUGGING ON A HILL TO THE POINT OF SHUTTERING BEFORE IT DOWNSHIFTS, AND THEN VERY HARSH SHIFT. VERY HARSH SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEARS, AND THEN AGAIN ON DOWNSHIFT FROM SECOND TO FIRST. TODAY 11/19/2020 I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70 MPH, AND ONCE IT STARTED LUGGING DOWN IT DOWNSHIFTED AND TOOK OFF LIKE THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING WILD. I TAPPED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO CANCEL THE CRUSE CONTROL, THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT IN CANCELING THE CRUSE THIS VEHICLE JUST KEPT RUNNING WILD. I EVEN PUSHED THE MAIN CRUISE POWER BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOE WHAT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY, STILL RUN AS IF IT WAS POSSESSED. AFTER ABOUT 45 SECONDS, AND JUST AS I MADE UP MY MIND THAT I HAD TO KILL THE IGNITION SWITCH, IT CALMED BACK DOWN TO THE NORMAL HARSH SHIFT, BUT DIDN'T RUN WILD. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE RPM'S GAUGE IS NOT STEADY, AND MOVES RADICALLY I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER IN THE PAST WITH MY CONCERNS OF A HARSH SHIFT ISSUE, AS WELL AS THE SHUTTERING AND LUGING DOWN ON THE HILLS, AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THEIR TRANSMISSION. THESE TRUCKS NEED TO BE LOOKED AT VERY CLOSELY BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON THE 5 OF DECEMBER 2020, AND YOU WOULD THINK WITH THE SAFETY FACTOR OF MY CONCERNS, THAT THEY WOULD TRY GETTING ME IN SOONER, RATHER THEN PUT ME OFF OVER TWO WEEKS.
THIS TRUCK HAS SO MANY ISSUES FIRST ONE WAS A FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT AND IT APPEARS TO BE LINKED IN WITH A LIN DATA BASE? I HAD IT REPAIRED WAS GOOD NOW IT POPS ON AGAIN BUT ITS SAYING IT CAN BE SOMETHING IN THE LIN SYSTEM SAD TODAYS CARS ARE JUST FILLING UP THE JUNK YARDS AND CHARGING 50K FOR A NEW ONE ITS SADLY PISS POOR QUALITY

WHEN VEHILCE GOES FROM 6 CYLINDERS TO 4 CYLINDERS IT SHAKES REALLY BAD AND CAUSES HEADACHES AT ALL SPEEDS ! WORSE AT HIGHER SPEEDS
UNABLE TO FILL TANK COMPLETELY. GAS PUMP WILL TRIP OUT BEFORE TANK IS FULL. THIS HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE STATIONS
FUEL LEAK FUEL TANK AREA WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING.
VEHICLES ENGINE AND IGNITION SHUT OFF WHILE TURNING RIGHT. ENGINE CAN BE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS (1090 MILES) UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED. ONE TIME WHILE ENTERING A ROADWAY FROM A PARKING LOT, ONE TIME WHILE PULLING OVER TO PARK AND ONE TIME WHILE TURNING OFF OF A HIGHWAY OFF RAMP. THE DEALERSHIP, HEALEY BROTHERS OF MIDDLETOWN, NY ATTEMPTED TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO AND HAS NO ANSWERS AS TO WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM.
