Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

LT295/65R20 Two Nitto Grappler G2 which were on the rear of my truck, the internal belts of the tire have separated, causing a buckle of the tire. The separation caused a bouncing rough ride. This is a safety issue when riding the vehicle and I believe eventually it would have blown. The two tires were replaced by Discount Tire under my extended warranty that I purchased with the tires. I did contact Nitto Tire and attempted to have them replace the remaining front tires, I believe they will be separating very soon. Nitto refused to replace the tires, due to the tires being over 5 years old. The tires are not worn and have 11/32’s thread. I believe Nitto has a problem with the tires separating and should be addressed.

Cp4 failure, left me stranded and cost me 11k in repairs. 69k miles on truck 6,427.40$ for the Bosh disaster kit. Plus additional fluids, gaskets, ect that are not included. And 3900$ in labor. This cost me little under 11k. I have full invoice at total performance diesel at 300 west robles ave, Santa Rosa. This really affects my life. And it’s a common thing for the cp4 pump. 7,500$ deposit and 2,698.38$ was my final payment.

When pulling out into busy traffic the TCM quit and lost all power to the wheels. Could not move. Luckily the traffic seen we had a issue and swerved to go around us. We found out later this has been a huge issue for GM with TCM on units like mine. If traffic would not have been paying attention they would have hit us and caused injuries to my family and probably theirs. Glad we were not pulling out onto a highway with high speed traffic.

TCM failed. Vehicle is at the dealership awaiting new part for over three months now. Continue to get extended ETA on the part, latest communication was maybe November before it ships. Last vehicle dealership had took a year for the replacement TCM Vehicle immediately went into ‘limp mode’ on highway, was very unsafe because could only go 20-25mph. Confirmed by dealer upon them working on pickup it was the TCM. They, as well as we researched, and found stated that this is widespread problem in 2011-2016 year Duramaxes. We were left vehicleless. We tow trailers for our business and fifth wheel camper for personal use. Very detrimental to our livelihood.

The fuel pump has put metal shaving all through my fuel system and It is available for inspection if anyone is interested in taking a look at it. It made my truck die in the middle of the highway. It put me and a lot of others in danger! AutoNation Chevrolet seen and confirmed and said it was because the cp4 fuel pump isn’t compatible with my truck and that a class action was just granted over this in 5 states. The Chevrolet dealership inspected the component. Only light that came on was change fuel filter and I got it changed just a day or two before it died on me.

The system that failed was the CP4.2. The Cp4 is a defect that has failed; in the failure it has been ground down and it pushed metal shavings through the fuel system and it has also clogged the injectors. The failure of this system left me in a hazardous position in the middle of the highway. I could not turn or break because there was no power to my vehicle because it was not getting any fuel.

I was driving on an unpaved maintained road at night and heard a loud bang and bright flash came to a stop and realized I couldn't see out of the door windows. The side curtain bags deployed. I took it into rich ford no damage was found to any sensors or to the truck. Noone wants to replace the bags or damaged interior and insurance won't file a claim due to no damage to truck.

While I was pulling my trailer up a grade on my 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500HD diesel truck, the fuel pump had catastrophic failure resulting in total loss of power. I had to unsafely maneuver to the shoulder of the 10 freeway west near Cabazon, CA and exit the truck near high speed traffic. I was lucky to make it to the shoulder without getting run over by the trucks in the slow lane. Had to wait hours for a tow and now have a roughly $10k repair bill. This is a known issue with the Bosch CP4 fuel pumps that Ford and GM refuse to address. Ram/Stellantis recalled their diesel trucks for 2019 and 2020 using this fuel pump. Dealer has confirmed total failure of the Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pump as the reason for total loss of power. No warning signs whatsoever, just immediate loss of power while traveling 55 mph.

the Silverado 2500hd and I think 3500 work duty pickups some don't come with a stabilizer damper for steering my 2014 work truck with only 19k miles has a shake so bad you can't drive on the highway, I first noticed the shimmer at 2 yrs the deal did alignments and said they could not find what caused it, now I took the truck in for check engine on an o2 sensor they said catalytic converter went bad and it needed alignment so I said yes to the o2 sensor and alignment then I leave the check engine light pops on and when trying to drive over 35 mph the steering wheel violently shakes back and worth, I talked to a commercial tech he said the stabilizer always goes bad on these and so does all the youtube videos but some videos show that some trucks have a stabilizer and some don't, but do have the mounting holes.

WHILE DRIVING FROM MICHIGAN INTO NEW YORK TO DELIVER AN RV TO A DEALERSHIP MY TRUCK EXPERIENCED A FUEL DEFICIENCY AND STALLED WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY. I FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS THE FUEL FILTER BUT THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND IN TOWING IT INTO A SERVICE SHOP THEY DETERMINED THE BOSCH CP4 FUEL PUMP HAD QUIT DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS WHICH RESULTED IN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THIS COST ME OVER $15,000. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS PUMP IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE FUEL IN THE UNITED STATES AND THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED IN TEXAS. IT IS ALSO MY UNDERSTANDING THAT GM TRIED TO HAVE THE CASE DISMISSED BUT THE TEXAS JUDGE DID NOT ALLOW FOR A DISMISSAL. I HAVE SEVERAL COPIES OF REPAIR AND TRAVEL EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS LOST INCOME AS I USE MY TRUCK FOR DELIVERIES. I WILL PROVIDE COPIES OF THESE WHEN NECESSARY AS MY SCANNER IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING. THIS ISSUE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED AS A RECALL ISSUE AS THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR NOT TO MENTION THE DANGER OF THE FUEL SYSTEM QUITTING UNEXPECTEDLY.

I HAVE SEVERAL DTC CODES U029D U029E P0420 P220B ON THREE OCCASIONS. THESE CODE ARE TRIGGERING A LIMITED SPEED AND POSSIBLE POWER REDUCTION. THE DEALER SHIP STATES THAT GMC PROTOCOL IS TO REPLACE ONE SENSOR AT A TIME AND LET THE CUSTOMER GO SO THEY CAN BREAKDOWN AGAIN. THE PART THAT IS FAILING I AM TOLD IS THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER, BUT GMC CAN NOT SUPPLY THE DEALERSHIPS WITH THE HIGH DEMAND. THIS SEEMS LIKE A FAULTY DESIGN THAT MAY WORK DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT SHORTY FAILS AFTER. I DID REPORT EXHAUST SMELL IN THE TRUCK WHILE DRIVING . I WAS GIVEN A REPORT AND A LARGE REPAIR BILL ONLY TO BREAKDOWN IN 126 MILES.

TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE BAND BUT SAID THAT IT WAS THE AIR COMPRESSOR (MOTOR). HE SAID THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN IN A TRUCK THIS NEW. HE RECOMMENDED CHECKING FOR ANY RECALLS.
