2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Tires & wheels Problems

Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT, Size LT275/65/ R20 Load Range E DOT #1RJ0TJB1V2322 While driving on the highway (approx. 65-70 MPH) the center tread of the rear driver-side tired suddenly and completely delaminated/separated from the casing without warning. The only warning was a second of vibrations right before the failure. The tire-maintained inflation pressure during and after the tread separated, proving the structural integrity of the casing waws intact and that this was not caused by a puncture, blowout or road hazard. It was a catastrophic chemical adhesion bond failure between the tread rubber and the steel belt package. My safety and the safety of other motorists on the highway were put at extreme risk. When the steel-belted tread separated at high speed, it acted as a spinning whip, causing a violent vibration and severe handling instability that nearly caused a loss of vehicle control. The flailing treat slapped the vehicle body repeaedly before ripping completely free, causing extensive structural and cosmetic damage to the truck. It tore off the fender flares entirel, severely gouged and dented the painted metal tailgate, broke the passenger-side taillight, damaging the passenger cab door. The debris shedding onto the highway created an immediate, severe hazard for vehicle traveling behind me. The vehilve and the failed tire casing are currently preserved and available for immediate inspection. A local tire service center examined the tire and confirmed the structural casing was uncompromised and holding air, pointing heavily to an internal factory/ manufacturing defect. We also have pictures of the truck, along with pictures of the tire still on the rim.

Driving near on the [XXX] had a blowout at because tire separated. My whole family and animals were in the truck. Putting us all at risk. The tires only had 18k miles on them. Three of four original Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires (DOT 0222) on my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 have experienced catastrophic tread separations under normal use with 28,095 miles. The first two failed under warranty and were replaced at my expense; the third failed at highway speed, causing vehicle damage and a $1,000 insurance deductible plus additional cost to replace the tire. The dealership advised GM sent the failed tires for analysis, but GM denies receiving or reviewing them. Multiple NHTSA complaints describe identical failures on this same tire model (e.g., #11522434, #11482843, #11457647). This pattern indicates a potential widespread safety defect.

These tires are good year wrangler trail runner at size lt275/65 r20. My total mileage on these tires was 40970These were the original tires that were installed when the truck was purchased new. My tires are rotated every 5000 miles. Tire pressure is maintained at the exact pressure. I was driving on an interstate at 70 mph. A vibration started. I checked the tire pressure monitors and all showed normal pressures - I stopped and observed the tires were no longer round but had bulges to one side of the tread surface Both are likely to blowout and have to be replaced Two did this same thing in last 2 weeks

I was driving to an event and I noticed my truck was pulling slightly. As I pulled onto the freeway and accelerated, I felt and heard a thumping sound but could not distinguish it between the pattern in the freeway or an issue with a tire. I continued to accelerate and the tire blew at about 55 mph. I was pulling a 5th wheel in a construction zone and was not immediately able to safely pull off the roadway. Extensive damage was done to the body of the truck with a current estimate at $4,832.18. The rim and tire were also destroyed with the rim being valued at $841.08 and tire at $408.

Tire = LT275/65R20. After 20 minutes on surface streets in 98° weather, entered freeway and heard a "thumping" sound every second at about 45 mph. Appeared to be the freeway but after accelerating to about 55 mph a loud bang was heard and the tire blew. This was a catastrophic failure where the tread fully separated from the wheel and did substantial damage to the side and wheel well of the truck. The rim was also damaged beyond repair.
