Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT, Size LT275/65/ R20 Load Range E DOT #1RJ0TJB1V2322 While driving on the highway (approx. 65-70 MPH) the center tread of the rear driver-side tired suddenly and completely delaminated/separated from the casing without warning. The only warning was a second of vibrations right before the failure. The tire-maintained inflation pressure during and after the tread separated, proving the structural integrity of the casing waws intact and that this was not caused by a puncture, blowout or road hazard. It was a catastrophic chemical adhesion bond failure between the tread rubber and the steel belt package. My safety and the safety of other motorists on the highway were put at extreme risk. When the steel-belted tread separated at high speed, it acted as a spinning whip, causing a violent vibration and severe handling instability that nearly caused a loss of vehicle control. The flailing treat slapped the vehicle body repeaedly before ripping completely free, causing extensive structural and cosmetic damage to the truck. It tore off the fender flares entirel, severely gouged and dented the painted metal tailgate, broke the passenger-side taillight, damaging the passenger cab door. The debris shedding onto the highway created an immediate, severe hazard for vehicle traveling behind me. The vehilve and the failed tire casing are currently preserved and available for immediate inspection. A local tire service center examined the tire and confirmed the structural casing was uncompromised and holding air, pointing heavily to an internal factory/ manufacturing defect. We also have pictures of the truck, along with pictures of the tire still on the rim.

Chevrolet had a tail gate recall on the Silverado vehicles due to the rear tailgate opening on its own while driving down the road. I had this recall completed by my local Chevrolet dealer and the problem got progressively worse. This causes physical damage and safety concerns if the truck bed is loaded and the consumer is pulling a trailer. General motors has been contacted with no resolution and the dealership has as well. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms have been noticed. The tailgate has released on its own before and after the recall was complete. However, It has happened much more frequently after the recall was complete.

The engine lost power and staleld twice, and loses accelerator power multiple times. The transmission has dis-engaged 3 times. All of this since July 2026. The truck has 54,000 miles on it.

My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD does not bear the certification label required by 49 CFR Part 567. I bought it used from a franchised Chevrolet dealer in April 2024 and am the current owner. The date reported is the date I examined the vehicle and confirmed the label was absent. This is not an incident, and I do not know when or how the label came to be missing. I checked the driver-side hinge pillar, door-latch post, door edge, and surrounding areas. The only labels present are: a GM trailering label (10,000 lb GVWR, 26,000 lb GCWR, 6,390 lb rear GAWR, no front GAWR, no FMVSS conformance statement); a Tire and Loading Information placard (states seating capacity, a 2,111 lb occupant-and-cargo limit, and tire sizes, but no GVWR and no GAWR); and a cellular module sticker with no weight information. Nothing on the vehicle states the manufacturer, the month and year of manufacture, the GVWR with front and rear GAWR, and the FMVSS conformance statement. A 2023 GMC Sierra 3500HD I photographed for comparison bears all of it. On the panel below the trailering label there is a rectangular area, distinguishable from the surrounding paint, with adhesive residue visible and palpable. I report this without characterizing it. The practical effect is that I cannot determine my front or rear gross axle weight rating from the vehicle. This truck was also built with a factory-reduced 10,000 lb GVWR rather than the approximately 11,350 lb published for the same configuration, and the certification label is the one document that would display the certified ceiling alongside the actual axle capacities. Photographs of every label present, of the comparison label, and of the residue area are attached. General Motors has not provided the VIN-specific build record or any record of whether a certification label was applied at assembly.

I own a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine and Allison-branded 10 speed (10L1000) automatic transmission. VIN: [XXX]. While pulling away from a traffic light and accelerating to approximately 20 to 30 mph, the transmission suddenly began shifting harshly and erratically, experienced delayed engagement, unexpectedly downshifted, and would not shift into overdrive. At the same time, the check engine light illuminated and a Reduced Engine Power warning appeared. There were no warning lights, messages, or transmission symptoms prior to this incident. I pulled into a parking lot for approximately one hour, but when I resumed driving, the same failure occurred again. The transmission malfunction created a safety concern because the vehicle unexpectedly lost normal shifting and power while operating in traffic, making it difficult to accelerate and maintain speed safely. I contacted OnStar, which reported both an engine and transmission fault. I then drove the vehicle to my independent diesel mechanic, who diagnosed a failure of the transmission control valve body caused by an internal solenoid that is not serviceable separately, requiring replacement of the complete transmission control valve body assembly. The repair has been completed, so the original failed component is no longer available for inspection. The failure was confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by Chevrolet, law enforcement, or an insurance representative. I contacted General Motors to determine whether my VIN was included in the existing transmission control valve recall and was advised that it is not. I am submitting this complaint because my truck experienced the same symptoms and the same component failure as vehicles covered by the recall, despite my VIN not being included. The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While driving at an undisclosed speed with a camper trailer attached, the integrated trailer brake controller failed to operate correctly, causing the camper to experience severe braking failures and the vehicle failed to slow down properly. The contact stated that the integrated trailer brake controller was unable to process the electrical current between the camper battery and the vehicle battery because of the different wattages on the camper. The failure with the electrical current limited the control to slow the trailer, creating an increased stopping distance while driving. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a repair under a GM Customer Satisfaction Program: N232414840; however, the dealer stated the program had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,463.

This PI provides diagnostic tips for diagnosing electric trailer brakes issues.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
