There is an open recall on my 2016 Chevrolet Traverse that I have been trying to get resolved for almost 2 years. I finally opened a case with GM (#{XXX]) back on February 15, 2026 in an effort to escalate the repair. I received a call from a GM rep who has been less than helpful telling me the recall was completed in February of 2024 at a dealership in South Carolina. I explained to him that my vehicle is housed in Florida and has never been to South Carolina. It is clear he is not interested in finding a resolution to my issue. He calls once a week to inform me he's working on it and will get back to me next week. This has been going on for a month. My grandchildren are often passengers in this vehicle and I have major concerns for their safety. It should not take 2 years to get this issue resolved. My vehicle has had issues starting off and on with in the last year of having the vehicle. I replaced the battery and alternator. and now we think it's the neutral safety switch. I went to go check the recalls and I see that I had a recall on the front air bag module needs replaced too. I have not received anything in the mail by the dealership or calls.

Still waiting to get the repair done on this recall,it's been since May 2023 and still not fixed..This isn't in a timely matter.Just glad nothing has happened yet to injure my wife from this defect.

Nothing has happened currently but I have reported this issue to have it serviced and was told that since the status is stuck in limbo there is nothing I can do, this isn’t safe for me nor my family taking that risk every day as a every day driver.
I have been given multiple warnings about a recall on the airbags for almost a year now. The recall claims that if the airbags go off, metal shards could fly out and could kill me. They say to go to a service center and have it repaired immediately. I have called several service centers and GM twice, and all they can tell me is that the parts are not available, and I will be notified when they are. IT'S BEEN A YEAR!!!!! I guess they are waiting for people to die before they will do anything. I do not feel safe driving my car and am considering getting rid of it for my own safety, and I will NEVER buy another Chevrolet if they cannot assure that their vehicles are safe.
As of 10May2023 the Driver Front Airbag Inflator May Rupture and could cause death to occupants of the car. All in my car are at risk for metal parts flying in the cabin of the SUV if the airbag inflator ruptures. This could cause death per recall notice. I called all the dealers near me and GM no one can get the parts to fix this potentially life threatening defect. Please help them get the parts for fix my SUV. I am really not comfortable driving knowing my airbag could kill all in my car. No warning signs for this, but there would not be. I gained knowledge of this from the manufactures notice. Please help Rudy from Lester Glenn Chevrolet of Freehold NJ 18334350597 get the part for my 2016 Traverse, if possible by Saturday. Thanks

It is not safe for me to drive this SUV. After one year of visiting the Chevrolet car dealer, calling them many times and trying my best to get them to help me with this Takata airbag problem (since I got the recall notice); GM said they don't have the part. They also said they don't have another vehicle to give me until they get it fixed. We are very disappointed and we feel unsafe, my family members and I.
