2016 Chrysler Town And Country Driver assistance Problems

For the last few weeks my car has been stalling when I come to a complete stop or as I am breaking. Sometimes it takes as many as 7 tries of putting it in park, turning it off and turning it back on. The check engine light is not on. Mechanic cannot determine problem. I have found hundreds of other claims saying the same thing with no resolution found. This has been a reoccuring problem and is inconsistent. Can happen 5 times in a 5 mile trip and 0 times in a 50 mile trip.

1st Vehicle was driving heavy so I got it checked and the transmission had to be replaced, this was in July?? 2024. The vehicle was still driving heavy 2nd was the traction light(s) VSR?? light turned on 3rd The check engine light came on and gave a P0420 Code. The right catalytic converter was replaced in March 2025 4th The same day I went to repare the Catalytic Converter (before replacement), the Blind Spot System warning came on along with 1. My windshield wipers turning on and off by themselves, 2. rpm went down to 0, 3. the low fuel sign came on even though I just fueled up AND the needle dropped to E, 4. the MPH also went down to 0, 5. the tire detection came on + the light, 6. the ABS light came on, 7. the traction lights came, 8. Heating/A/C system dropped to a lower pressure and then regained pressure, 9. there is a skip when accelerating, 10. won't properly read mileages used11. I lose control of my turn signals, lights, wipers AND hazard light as well as the powered windows Everything turned off and I gained control again Then it started again I turned the vehicle off but the lights kept turning on and off and I kept gaining control then losing it ALL of this occurs while I am driving, at a stop, or just turning on the vehicle Yes this possesses an issue for my and the safety of others No and Yes about the confirmed issues with a certified dealership No because I am scheduled for an appointment with a Chrysler dealer tomorrow (Mar.20th,2025) Yes because I have gone to other dealers and they cannot figure out what the main issue is No the issue has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance rep., etc. Yes and No to other warnings I knew someone was off because when I turn the key to the run position right before I turn the vehicle on, the check engine light stays on If I leave it in that position until all the other lights turn off, the check engine light remains on When I turn the vehicle completely on, the check engine light disappears

1. Engine runs but when I shift into reverse, drive etc. Car does not move. When I took it to be looked at, they said that my transmission doesn't have pressure. There was no indicator lights on the dash or any reason for me to think anything was wrong until I went out to drive my kids to school and it wouldn't move. Available for inspection on request.

ticking started in the engine, idle is rough most times, #2 cylinder misfire and does not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. occasional cut off while driving or stopping at a light. mechanic checked codes to verify. In september of 2023 transmission was replaced by a certified shop after the same similar issues. keep dumping money into a car that i am still paying on and maintain according to the maintenance schedule.

1) Check engine light appears and engine loses power when going up inclines on highway (bridge, hill, etc.) Cruise control shuts off involuntarily and even if you push the gas pedal to the floor, the vehicle decelerates. This causes a safety issue every time as cars in other lanes are swerving around me as I haven't enough power to adequately climb the hill. Dealer service dept says it's most likely a camshaft issue, based on their diagnostic code P0369. This started happening @ 65,000 miles - ridiculously early for such a major engine repair. My own mechanic says this is a known issue with Chrysler Town & Country, yet FCA refuses to stand behind their product. 2) Blind spot sensor failed @ 30,000 miles - also a known issue. Dealer tech said it's not worth the $800 repair because it will go out in another 30,000 due to poor design (sensor gets caked with mud/grime over time due to nonsensical placement), making this safety option useless. Vehicle is available for inspection of both items upon request.

While driving in traffic my transmission failed due to a pump failure in the transmission (diagnosed by a mechanic after the incident and having to be towed to a shop). The car stalled in the middle of an active intersection. My make and model and manufacture year was involved in a recall for this exact problem but for unknown reasons my VIN is not included. The car has been meticulously maintained and has less than 50,000 miles. The check engine light appeared immediately prior to the car losing power.

Greetings, My name is [XXX], age 27. I am a young single mother of two children, and as I felt like I was truly blessed to get any car that would be reliable to take me to work. Unfortunately, I was leased a 2016 Chrysler Town Country vehicle, as I still owe $11,000 after making monthly payments of $367.00 since May 13th, 2021., with a $4,200 payment down. What I thought was a blessing for my situation, but in reality it was a predatorial loan in disguises from The Contra Costa County, public Auto Auction. As I only had this car for 5 months, I am now seeming to be extremely frustrated that I am being charged $500.00 to get my car serviced, as Chrysler Dealership is the only reliable source to service this vehicle due to the complication of their being a specific machine to add transmission fluid into the transmission. There is a check engine light exact for my transmission sensors, but it actually needs to be changed immediately. Due to my financial hardship that COIVD has caused me as a young single mother, I am unable to pay for this unknown excessive charge for the proper service. This is causing a huge delay within trying to get this problem fixed before the transmission ends up blowing out on me. I was also informed that I would not be eligible to get a rental in return for the amount of days that It will take to get an appointment at a Chrysler Dealership. On August 13, 2021, while driving at about 60 miles per hour, the vehicle lost power and power steering. Air conditioning continued to work. I was able to coast, move over to the right lane, place the transmission into neutral and restart the engine. I then placed the transmission back into drive, increased my speed and resumed my trip. This occurred previously on August 15, 2017, resulting in Complaint Number 11047478 being filed with your department.

SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MODULE AND WIRE CONNECTION HAS CORRODED AND DESTROYED THE MODULE, TERMINALS AND CONNECTORS. IT HAPPENED DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE WARNING BELL AND MESSAGE CAME ON SAYING IT IS NOR WORKING. WE WE'RE DRIVING HOME FROM BISHOP ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VAN WOULDN'T SHIFT TO 3 GEAR. IT WOULDN'T GO PAST 40 MILES PER HOUR. WHEN WE TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND PUT IT INTO DRIVING GEAR IT JOLTED FOR A SECOND RIGHT BEFORE AND AFTER TAKING IT OUT OF THE DRIVING GEAR. WE HAD TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON SO WE WOULDN'T GET HIT FROM BEHIND FROM COMING AND UN COMING TRAFFIC SINCE IT WAS PITCH DARK AT NIGHT. ALSO, THE LEFT BACK PASSENGER DOOR RIGHT BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT WAS NO LONGER WORKING EARLIER. IT WON'T OPEN NEITHER WITH THE CLICKER, OR BY HAND (INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE) OR BY THE INSIDE AUTOMATIC BUTTONS FOR THE DOOR. IT JUST DOESN'T UNLOCK ANY MORE.
