WENT TO CLEAN THE TRAILER AND WHEN I WENT INTO THE BATHROOM I NOTICED THAT THE FLOOR IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE SHOWER/TUB WAS SAGGING AND SPONGY. THE TRAILER HAS NOT BEEN USED IN 1 - 2 YEARS. THIS TRAILER ALSO HAS A TENDENCY TO LEAK AROUND THE PULL OUT FRONT BED, AND WE HAVE HAD THAT REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER WE FIRST BOUGHT THE TRAILER. FROM LOOKING AT THE INTERNET THIS TRAILER'S TENDENCY TO LEAK AND DAMAGE THE FLOORS IS NOT NEW AND IF THE MANUFACTURER KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THEN IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THEIR EXPENSE. *TR

COLEMAN / FLEETWOOD CARAVAN TRAVEL TRAILERS MODEL YEARS 2001 THROUGH PRESENT HAVE INCORRECTLY CUTOUT SLOTS FOR THE AXLE LEAF SPRING ATTACHMENT SHACKLES. THE ATTACHMENT BOLTS STRIKE THE FRAME WHEN THE SUSPENSION MOVES, CAUSING THE BOLT HEADS TO POUND GASHES INTO THE FRAME. EVENTUALLY THE BOLT LOCKS INTO THE FRAME AND THE SUSPENSION FREEZES UP. THIS CAUSES THE TRAILER TO SWAY DRAMATICALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND CAUSES A LOSS OF CONTROL. DAMAGE TO THE ATTACHMENT BOLTS CAN ALSO RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION COMING APART. I OWN A 2002 MODEL AND HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE FRAME CUTOUTS TO BE DONE CORRECTLY AND ATTACHMENT BOLTS REPLACED AFTER I NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE DURING TRANSPORT ON MY FIRST TRIP IN IT. I HAVE PERSONALLY INSPECTED OVER A DOZEN CARAVANS IN THE PHX AZ AREA AND FOUND THE MAJORITY TO HAVE THIS DEFECT ON ONE OR BOTH SIDES OF THE FRAME. THE DEFECT APPEARS RANDOMLY AT THE FOUR CUTOUT LOCATIONS. I HAVE NOTIFIED IN WRITING THE LOCAL DEALERS AND ALSO FLEETWOOD / COLEMAN. MY INCIDENT OCCURRED 08-2002. I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT FROM COLEMAN / FLEETWOOD. I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE LAST IN AUGUST, 2003 AND HAVE FOUND THAT ALL USED RESALE, NEW MODELS AND CONSUMER OWNED MODELS IN FOR SERVICE STILL HAVE THIS DEFECT. THE DEALER HAS ADVISED ME THAT THEY NOTIFIED COLEMAN / FLEETWOOD OF THIS DEFECT AND THE SERIOUS NATURE AND WERE TOLD NOT TO FIX ANY UNITS UNLESS A SPECIFIC COMPLAINT WAS MADE BY A CUSTOMER. THEY WERE INSTUCTED TO THEN ONLY FIX THAT UNIT AND NOT ANY OTHER ONES ON THEIR LOT. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF THIS DEFECT IF NEEDED.*AK

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
