2001 Country Coach Concept Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Country Coach Concept, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THIS IS A REQUEST THAT MY COUNTRY COACH BE INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA RECALL 08V-484 NOTICE, NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PEO8046. THIS RECALL STOPS AT COUNTRY COACH #6904. THE RECALL NOTICE REQUIRED THE INSTALLATION OF A LUBRICATED (WET) SPLINE PTO. DURING THE PAST YEAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED TWO PTO BREAKDOWNS IN MY COUNTRY COACH, MAGNA #6994. I'VE ALSO INCURRED SUBSTANTIAL REPAIR COSTS AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THESE PTO FAILURES IN MY 2009 COUNTRY COACH MAGNA PTO. SINCE COUNTRY COACH, INC. IS NOW IN BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS ANY FURTHER REPAIRS WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY NEW COACH WARRANTY. PTO BREAKDOWNS AND REPAIRS OCCURRED ON THE FOLLOWING DATES: 1. JULY 29, 2008: MILEAGE 1,168 - REPAIR PTO SEAL LEAK; SMITH POWER PRODUCTS; SALT LAKE CITY, UT 801-415-5700; JOB # 157139. THIS REPAIR WAS PAID FOR BY COUNTRY COACH AS PART OF THE COACH WARRANTY. 2. MAY 13, 2009: MILEAGE 1,867 - REPAIR PTO SEAL LEAK; CUMMINS ROCKY MOUNTAIN; ALBUQUERQUE, NM 505-247-2441; REF. # 78992. THIS REPAIR WAS NOT PAID FOR BY COUNTRY COACH. THE EXPLANATION GIVEN TO MY ATTORNEY WAS THAT THE CURRENT BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS DENIED COVERAGE ON ANY WARRANTY RELATED REPAIRS. 3. JULY 6, 2009: MILEAGE 6,660 - INSTALL PTO SPLINE WET LUBE MODIFICATION KIT; SAN DIEGO RV CENTER, 619-561-3531; REPAIR ORDER # 15197. AS THE RESULT OF THE AFOREMENTIONED BREAKDOWNS, AND AS A PREVENTATIVE MEASURE AGAINST FURTHER COACH DAMAGE, I INITIATED THE INSTALLATION OF A LUBRICATED (WET) SPLINE PTO. THE RECOMMENDATION TO INSTALL THIS KIT WAS MADE BY JOHN DAVIS, FORMER COUNTRY COACH SERVICE MANAGER, (541) 306-6473, JDRV, INC. *TR

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
