2003 Damon Daybreak Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 DAMON DAYBREAK RV. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO DOWNSHIFT THE RV AND USE THE BRAKES IN THE VEHICLE THAT WAS BEING TOWED. HE HAS NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE THAT TIME. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT THE BRAKE LINE WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE FRAME. AS A RESULT, WATER ACCUMULATED AND RUSTED OUT THE BRAKE LINE, WHICH CAUSED A HOLE IN THE LINE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
