1993 Dodge W250 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 8 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1993 Dodge W250. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY TOOK OFF FULL THROTTLE CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN BEFORE ANY DAMAGE COULD BE DONE TO MY ENGINE OR OTHER VEHICLES, AND I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME. DODGE HAS A RECALL (#605), FOR THE EXACT SYMPTOMS I WAS EXPERIENCING, THOUGH MY INJECTION PUMP DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE DATE CODE. I TOOK MY INJECTION PUMP INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I THEN TOOK APART THE INJECTION PUMP AND FOUND THAT THE FULCRUM LEVER, THE SAME PIECE THAT CAUSED THE RECALL FOR RECALL #605, HAD INDEED BROKEN SENDING TINY BITS OF METAL THROUGHOUT MY INJECTION PUMP CAUSING THE RUNAWAY. I FEEL THAT DODGE IS RESPONSIBLE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE PARTS THAT WERE BROKEN, AND SHOULD ALSO EXTEND THE RECALL TO ALL CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINES EQUIPPED WITH THE VE PUMP. *TR
