2016 Ducati Multistrada Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 4 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2016 Ducati Multistrada. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. Was riding yesterday and the rear brake does not work at all. The rear brake is non-functional. This been an issue since new and the dealer says this is a known problem but nothing can be done to fix the issue.

NOT SURE IF THE LAST COMPLAINT WENT THROUGH SO HE I GO AGAIN. MY MOTORCYCLE HAS TWO MANUFACTURED DEFECTS. THE MOTORCYCLE OVERHEATS IN CITY TRAFFIC CAUSING THE MOTORCYCLE TO SHUT OFF BECAUSE THE COMPUTER AND THE MOTORCYCLE ENGINE GET TOO HOT. THIS ALSO CAUSES OTHER ISSUES BECAUSE THE MOTORCYCLE ALWAYS RUNS HOT. THE CLUTCH FLUID CAN BOIL AND SEALS FAIL ON THE CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER. MINE WENT AT 6000 MILES LEAKING FLUID CAUSING ME TO HAVE NO ABILITY TO SHIFT THE MOTORCYCLE DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THESE TWO FLAWS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED ON THESE DUCATI MOTORCYCLES. THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN. I HAVE A SCHEDULED REPAIR PROVIDING THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANUFACTURER DO SOMETHING. PROBABLY GET THE SAME FAULTY PART INSTALLED BUT NEW VERSION OF THEM. OVERHEATING PROBLEM PROBABLY WON'T EVER GET FIXED.

I HAD BEEN RIDING DOWN THE FREEWAY FOR AROUND 50 MIN AND THE MOTORCYCLE HAD BEEN ALL OK. I TRIED TO APPLY THE FRONT BRAKES AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I MANAGED TO SOMEHOW STOP WITHOUT INCIDENT USING THE REAR BRAKE. WHEN I PULLED OVER I FOUND THE FROM BRAKE LINE HAD COMPLETELY FAILED ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
