2020 Dutchmen Voltage

Recalls, owner-reported complaints, investigations and safety data

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.
0
Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Dutchmen Voltage 3001, 3351, 3521, 3531, 3551, 3571, 3951 and 4271 recreational trailers. The Federal Identification Tag incorrectly lists the recommended tire pressure as 110 PSI, instead of the correct tire pressure of 95 PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
The risk: Incorrect PSI information could cause the tires to be overinflated, and increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Federal Identification Tag, free of charge. The recall began February 3, 2021. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 21-399.

The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Alpine, Avalanche, Fuzion, Laredo, Montana, Raptor, Crossroads Redwood, and Dutchmen Voltage trailers. The adhesive bond between the glass and the metal frame of the frameless windows may fail which can allow the glass to detach while moving.
The risk: If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. This recall began July 24, 2020. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 20-375.

The risk: If the vehicle is loaded to a weight greater than 18,000 lbs, the pin box may fail, increasing the risk of crash.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the pin box inner with a pin box inner rated for 21,000 lbs, free of charge. The recall began June 18, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-354.

Manufacturer communications

A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.

KSB-210218

EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STRUCTURE

This is the inspection instructions for KSB-210218, Inspection Process Sidewall Cracks. The information and instructions in a Keystone Service Bulletin (KSB) are intended to inform RV dealership Service Managers/Technicians of situations that may occur with some Recreational vehicles so dealership personnel can perform proper and efficient service. KSB’s are intended to be used by trained RV technicians with the knowledge, tools and equipment to do the job properly and safely, not “do-it-yourselfers”. Inspection information is not presented as a repair guaranteed to be covered by warranty. Keystone’s P & P (Policy & Procedures) must be followed for any requested warranty work. Do not assume this inspection is covered by warranty. Not every unit requires a repair. This process describes the inspection of sidewall cracks and separation forward of the front slideouts to determine if there is a defect and what repair may need to be performed.

KSB-180328 V2

EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STRUCTURE; TRAILER HITCHES:FIFTH WHEEL ASSEMBLY

This is the revised repair instructions for KSB-180328. Information is not presented as a repair guaranteed to be covered by warranty. Keystone’s P & P (Policy & Procedures) must be followed for any requested warranty work. Do not assume this repair is covered by warranty. Not every unit listed requires a repair. Please read through the instructions start to finish before attempting the repair. This process describes the safe and proper procedure to repair any unit which experiences a crack at the bottom corner of a slideout at the gooseneck of a 5th wheel, opening the side wall to repair broken tube welds and add reinforcement. This technical service bulletin explains how to perform the repair. Please note: A sublet will be required for aluminum welding if you do not have that capability.

20-375

EQUIPMENT; VISIBILITY

This is the repair instructions, dealer letter, and owner letter for advisory 20-375. It has been determined certain Kinro frameless windows were manufactured with a poor adhesive bond between the glass and aluminum frame, and attachments on crank out and egress windows. The remedy is to perform a pull test on the frameless windows at the vent and replace the vent portion if the glue bond fails during the pull test.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
