Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

2,643 units potentially affected
The defect: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Seneca, Seneca Prestige, Entegra Accolade and Accolade XL motorhomes. The tire valve stem extension for the inner wheel may come into contact with the outer wheel rim opening and become damaged.
The risk: Damage to the valve stem extension may result in a loss of tire pressure of the inner wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Daimler Trucks North America, LLC will remove the inner valve stem extension and stabilizer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is FL912 21V-921.

449 units potentially affected
The defect: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2020 Motorized Alante, Greyhawk, Melbourne, Precept, Redhawk, Seneca, Accolade, Emblem, Esteem, Odyssey, Qwest, and Vision recreational vehicles. The adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of the frameless crank out vent and egress windows may fail which would then allow the glass to detach and fall out.
The risk: If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
The remedy: Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the frameless windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. This recall began June 15, 2020. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901508.

The contact owns a 2020 Freightliner M2. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 - 15 MPH and pulling out of the parking lot, the rear passenger’s side window above the kitchen sink started detaching from the vehicle. While driving approximately 60 MPH, the window detached from the vehicle. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V337000 (Visibility), and linked the failure to the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

The receiver hitch for trailering is experiencing abnormal metal fatigue and deformation. The motorhome was factory equipped with a receiver hitch that shows a rating of 12,000 lbs and a 1200 lb tongue weight. I have towed both an enclosed trailer with a max weight of less than 4000lbs and a Jeep Gladiator in the flat tow configuration. The Jeep weighs less than 5000 lbs. With both of these towed vehicles being less than 50% of the receivers' rated capacity, I believe there is a manufacturing defect with the supplied receiver hitch. I am certain that had this issue not been detected, continued use would very likely cause a breakaway of the towed vehicle, posing an extreme safety risk as a trailer or Jeep Gladiator breaking away from the motorhome could very likely cause an accident. The receiver hitch is available for inspection. I have reached out to the receiver's manufacturer, Curt Manufacturing and they offered absolutely zero assistance. I have also attempted to contact Entegra/Jayco, but have not received a response.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
