The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MULTI-PURPOSE PASSENGER VEHICLES (LONG WHEEL BASE). AN INCORRECT SIZE/SHAPE OF THE METAL BODY HOUSING WHERE THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT BELT IS SECURED ALLOWS THE SEAT BELT REEL TO RUB AGAINST THE EXTERNAL HOUSING.
The risk: THIS CONDITION CAN AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO AN OCCUPANT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT, MODIFY, AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE SEAT BELT REEL.
