it keeps throwing a check engine light for miss fire but ive replaced all of the ignition and fuel parts and it keeps happening now its loosing power and getting hot for no reason.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the engine power was significantly reduced and there was a whining sound coming from the engine compartment. While starting the vehicle, there was a high-pitched whining sound heard. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and determined there was a failure with the fuel pump. The fuel pumps were replaced 4 times, and the front and rear fuel pressure regulators were replaced several times since 2012. The contact was adding coolant to the vehicle every 2 months. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while her son was driving 25 MPH on a slight incline, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and then stalled. Both the contact's son and husband were unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel injection pump had failed due to metal shavings intrusion into the fuel system. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds over 50 MPH, the vehicle shifted into LIMP Mode. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted and that the transmission was slipping while shifting. The contact also stated that prior to entering the vehicle, he noticed a fluid leak underneath. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where unknown transmission repairs were completed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the fuel pressure regulator and heater malfunction failure codes were retrieved, and it was diagnosed that the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,100.
the diesel particulate filter is failing on a lot of 2011-2016 ford f-250 f-350, f-450, and f-550 Part 6D20000. Leaving vehicles stranded on the road while driving at 75 MPH. The safety was impacted by a sudden vehicle slowing down with no acceleration. It had also tried doing a lot of regins. This particular truck has not been inspected by a ford dealer nor insurance, but it has been inspected by me and a private mechanic. there weren't any prior problems with this truck. On top of this situation, diesel particulate filters are back ordered by about 3 months and cost about $4,700.00 for replacements. I do forget what the exact day was but it was somewhere in august of 2022
Okk Main issue is what everyone calls the “Death Wobble”. It has done it countless of times since I’ve had the truck. Even after I bought a New Fox Single steering stabilizer. I have replaced quite a few things under the front end that I was told “Could” be why it kept doing it. The most recent I’ve bought for the front is brand new Fox Shocks just like the ones I have on the back and it still does it. I’ve had the front end aligned a couple times since I’ve had the truck and rotated my tires once too. And to this day it Still does that death wobble. It scares me every time too still. Im afraid ima end up in a wreck or cause a wreck bc of it. Another issue is I keep having this warning pop up saying “ Engine Temp too high reduced engine power “ bc it thinks the engine coolant is too low which it’s Not. And when I scan the code through the OBD port it just says “Engine oil temp sensor too low/too high”. I had the Ford dealership in my town put a new Oil Temp sensor in it but it still throws a code just about everyday I drive it. Another issue I had was the High Pressure fuel pump on the front of the motor go out Literally while I was sittn in my driveway at night after just driving it not even 3 miles down the road to the store to grab a few things. And it ran fine like normal but soon as pulled in the driveway an was rolling my windows up about to go in it just died on me an had to get it towed to the Ford dealership in my town. They looked at my fuel an said my fuel was fine with No contaminants in it. I was just Unlucky they said so that was basically 10k out my pocket to pay for a Whole New fuel system. The Death Wobble is my most concerning issue but other than that the truck has been awesome.
WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, WHEN ADJUSTING SPEED, ENGINE WILL STALL OUT AND POWER STEERING, BRAKES STOP WORKING, ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON, INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN A WEEK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT FOUND METAL SHRAPNEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM, WHICH TRAVELED TO THE ENGINE. MULTIPLE UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BATTERY WAS CHANGED. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS AND FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,180.
2012 F250 BOUGHT NEW 2013 46,000 MILES. DRIVING ON ROAD. NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. SHUTS DOWN. DEALER INFORMS ME, WATER IN FUEL, NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. $9700 REPAIR BILL!
THE F250, 2012, 6.7L, DIESEL EMISSIONS SYSTEM EMITS DIESEL PARTICLES INTO THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK. THE PARTICLES ARE FINE AND ARE A HEALTH RISK. THE PARTICULATE FILTER HAS BEEN CHANGED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE PARTICLES CAN BE SEEN ON THE DOOR JAMS LEADING INTO THE TRUCK. THESE PARTICLES ARE FINE MIST AND ENTER INTO THE CAB AS WELL BECAUSE THE CAB ISN'T AIR TIGHT AND THE PARTICLES INTO THE CAB AND WHEN BREATHED IN CAN CAUSE NOT ONLY LUNG DAMAGE, BUT CANCER. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FOR PASSING SLOWER TRAFFIC, VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WENT INTO THE LIMP MODE. PROBLEM SEEMS MOST PRESENT AT AROUND 2000 RPM WHILE ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE SPEED. IT APPEARS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WHEN THE TURBO BOOST IS INCREASED. RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM HAS SHOWN THAT MANY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE ECO BOOST ENGINE IN THIS AND OTHER YEAR MODELS. THE NHTSA BEGAN AN INVESTIGATION IN 2012 BUT DROPPED THE PROBE WHEN FORD SAID THEY HAD RESOLVED THIS ISSUE. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT IT IS DEFINITELY A "SAFETY ISSUE" FOR DRIVERS OF THIS EQUIPMENT. HEADED FOR THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO SEE HOW THIS CAN BE RESOLVED.
TRUCK GIVE ME A STOP SAFELY NOW MASSAGE AND SHUT DOWN THE MOTOR IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE LOOKED IT UP ON THE INTERNET TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD EGT CENSOR HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED WOULD NOT RESTART
"TAKATA RECALL" VEHICLE ENGINE FAILURE AT SPEED, FAILED EGT SENSOR CAUSED THE TRUCK TO SHUT-OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE
I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS DOING A TURNAROUND WHEN I ACCELERATED TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY LANES A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER APPEARED ON MY DASH. APPROXIMATELY 200' LATER MY TRUCK DIED ON THE HIGHWAY. MY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AND APPARENTLY DISINTEGRATED SENDING ALUMINUM SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT MY ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AT A COST OF $11,200. THE FORD COMPANY IS CLAIMING THE FUEL WAS CONTAMINATED AND CAUSED THE PUMP TO RUST AND GO OUT. I HAVE NEVER GOT A WATER IN FUEL WARNING LIGHT ON MY TRUCK AND HAVE HAD ALL THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE TRUCK. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD A LAB DO A SAMPLE OF THE FUEL IN MY TRUCK AND THE FUEL MET ALL THE ASTM REQUIREMENTS. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE OF FOUR LANE HIGHWAY (TWO LANES EACH WAY) WHEN THE SENSOR WARNING CAME ON SAYING STOP SAFELY SOON. MY HUSBAND STARTED TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT. THE TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT. BEFORE WE COULD GET INTO THE RIGHT LANE THE TRUCK DIED. HAD WE BEEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STALLED IN THE HIGHWAY. I AM REPORTING THIS OUT OF CONCERN FOR OTHER DIESEL TRUCK DRIVERS. FORD DEALER SAID CAUSE WAS BAD EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE EGT SENSOR AND WE PAID OVER $1000 TO HAVE ALL 4 SENSORS REPLACED. THIS HAS CAUSED US TO LOSE FAITH IN OUR TRUCK AND WE TRADED IT IN FOR A NEWER MODEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT DIESEL FLUID WAS POURING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,799 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
RED FLUID FOUND ON GARAGE FLOOR. I TOOK MY TRUCK IN AND FORD COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAK. WITHIN A WEEK LATER I TOOK IT BACK AND SHOWED THEM WHERE IT WAS LEAKING. FORD BROUGHT THE MASTER MECHANIC OVER AND THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS SOMETHING LOOSE ON THE RIGHT SIDE UP HIGH THEY DID NOT TELL ME WHAT IT WAS. WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN AND THEY DETERMINED THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING THEY HAD THE TRUCK FOR 3 DAYS. AFTER PICKING UP MY TRUCK WITHIN 200 FEET FROM THE FORD DEALER THE LOW POWER ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE SYMBOL LIT UP. THEY 1ST TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE TOP OF THE ENGINE OFF TO CHECK IT OUT. A HOUR PASSED AND I GOT CALLED AND TOLD IT WAS THE DIESEL FUEL WAS GELLING UP AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO PUT A ADDITIVE IN THE FUEL AND THAT I SHOULD ADD IT AGAIN EVERY OTHER TANK OF FUEL. *TR
I WAS SAFELY OPERATING MY FORD F 250 ON A CONCRETE BRIDGE IN PINE ISLAND FLORIDA . I WAS TRAVELING @ 63 MPH AND WAS MAKING A SLIGHT LEFT BEND . THE TRUCK CROSSED AN EXPANSION JOINT AND WENT INTO UNCONTROLLABLE VIOLENT OSCILLATION OF SUSPENSION AND STEERING . THE OSCILLATION WAS SUCH THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO HOLD ON TO AND MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS MULTIPLE FLAT TIRES OR A WHEEL CAME OFF THE VEHICLE . HARD BRAKING TO UNDER 30 MPH WAS WHAT WAS REQUIRED TO STABILIZE STEERING TO "NORMAL" . THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED AND I DISCUSSED WITH MY SERVICE ADVISER AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM. I INSPECTED VEHICLE AND COULD SEE NO DAMAGE OF OBVIOUS PROBLEMS . I MONITOR TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY , HAVE NO MODIFICATIONS TO SUSPENSION OR STEERING ON VEHICLE . THE NEXT TIME THIS OCCURRED 12/26/13, I WAS TRAVELING APPROX. 65 MPH AND AGAIN WAS IN A SLIGHT LEFT HAND TURN AND CROSSED AN EXPANSION JOINT NEAR BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA ON HIGHWAY 65. I WAS SURROUNDED BY DENSE 65 MPH TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. THIS TIME THERE WAS A NEAR ACCIDENT AS I HAS A SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER BOTH CLOSE BEHIND ME AND TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF ME . ONCE AGAIN I HAD TO BRAKE RAPIDLY TO AVOID CROSSING LANES PUTTING MY FAMILY AT RISK OF SERIOUS ACCIDENT . THIS IS A HAZARDOUS CONDITION AND THE DEALER HAS NO EXPLANATION. THE FORCE IS VIOLENT ENOUGH THAT IT COULD EASILY DAMAGE PARTS OF THE TRUCK . AS A SIDE NOTE , THE FUEL PUMP CAME APART AND SLUNG METAL FRAGMENTS THROUGHOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM IN TRUCK WITHIN ONE HOUR OF THE VIOLENT OSCILLATION. *TR
DRIVING THROUGH A FARM FIELD AND SOMETHING HIT THE OIL PAN AND CRACKED IT WITH A HAIR LINE FRACTURE, 1/8 INCH, AND OIL LEAKING. NO VISABLE DAMAGE OR MARKING UNTIL PULLED FROM TRUCK, EVEN THAN NO MARKS BUT A SLIGHT DENT IN PLASTIC. NO OTHER VISABLE DAMAGE ANYWERE ELSE UNDER TRUCK. ASKED IF ALL OIL PANS ARE PLASTIC AND I WAS TOLD BY DEALER, YES. THIS IS A TRUCK DESIGNED TO FOR OFF ROAD HEAVY DUTY WORK. *TR
