2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utilit Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utilit, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ON THE POLICE INTERCEPTOR SUV EXPLORER, ALL DRIVER'S LIGHTS SHUTTERS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. HIGH BEAM STAYS ON DRIVERS SIDE AND DOES NOT GO BACK TO REGULAR BEAM. THIS PROBLEM IS ON THE RED LAKE FLEET OF 6 SUV'S POLICE VEHICLES. I ALSO CONTACTED BELTRAMI SHERIFF DEPARTMENT AND THEY ALSO ADVISED THEY HAVE THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE SHUTTERS ON THEIR FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES TOO. SAFETY ISSUE AT NIGHT WHEN APPROACHING ON-COMING TRAFFIC. I WAS ALSO TOLD THEY CANNOT ADJUST BEAMS ALIGNMENT UNTIL SHUTTERS ARE REPAIRED/REPLACED. ALL 6 VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WE ASKED FORD DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THE MILES WERE UNDER AS WE WERE TOLD WARRANTY DOES NOT INCLUDE LIGHTS. WE WERE TOLD THAT EACH SHUTTER/LIGHT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $700.00 EACH. THIS PROBLEM WAS AN ISSUE FROM DAY ONE. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
