What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2015 Ford Taurus, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. The fuel gauge in my 2015 Taurus/Interceptor is showing inaccurate fuel levels; it will show there is less fuel in the tank than there actually is, causing me to think I am possibly going to run out of fuel. The amount of fuel being put in the tank is significantly less than what the fuel gauge shows.

I seen that you are looking into the timing issues on Ford vehicles, My 2015 Taurus had its timing chain replaced just last Christmas 2025 that cost me over $6,000 to repair, I would not be even saying anything about this but my wifes 2014 Ford Edge did the same thing just 3 month before mine where we paid over $3,000 to try and fix but failed to fix so we just purchased her a new car, but with mine I could not afford another car payment so we just ended up fixing my Taurus, it had to go back twice to get it right but that is after $6,000 to fix. They said this is because of oil change issues but we always had our oil changed on time every time at the Ford dealership in my area. The dealer I took mine to for repairs told me also if the oil filter did not get replaced with the oil change this could cause this issue so I am assuming that this is the issue the dealership we were taking both our cars to for oil changes may have not been replacing the oil filter everytime we got it done. If there is anything I can do to recoup the loss I took on this please let me know. I can provide invoices if needed

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. NOT PARK LIGHTS JUST HEADLIGHTS. HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITH NO HEADLIGHTS. CALLED DEALERSHIP THEY SAID MY VIN DIDNOT HAVE A RECALL. IT WAS SOME 2015 BUT NOT MINE. THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE FAULTY. MY 2015 WORK CRUISER IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING WHICH IS A FORD EXPLORER. I NEVER HAD A CAR OLDER FORDS AND OTHERS THAT HAVE FAULTY HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE. I CAN SEE ONE HEADLIGHT BUT TWO.
An electrical or computer component failed, frequently causing my rear back up camera to go out. I couldn't tell that both of my headlights to stop functioning at the same time (because all of my interior lighting adjustments were still functioning, and because I was in a well light area initially) until I was on the highway, after dark, with my child in the vehicle.

WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID PUMP FAILURE AFTER 30K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. BEGAN BEING INTERMITTENT AFTER 20K MILES. REPLACED PUMP AND REMOVED PROTECTIVE COVER TO FIND CORRODED MOTOR WINDINGS. FAILIRE APPEARS TO BE CAUSED BY AN INTERNAL LEAK WITH IN THE PUMP ALLOWING THE WASHER FLUID TO ENTER THE ELECTRIC MOTOR PORTION OF THE PUMP. THIS IS A PARTICULAR HAZARD DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IF YOU CANNOT CLEAN SALT, DIRT AND OTHER DEBRIS OFF YOUR WINDSHIELD ,. PARTICULARLY DURING SUNNY DAYS.

I PURCHASED A 2015 FORD TAURUS IN JULY OF 2015 BRAND NEW ONLY 3 MILE ON THE VEHICLE. I NOTICE THAT AFTER THE FIRST OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION I NOTICED SOMETHING DIFFERENT ABOUT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL. ON THE SECOND MAINTENANCE VISIT I ADVISE THE INTAKE PERSON THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL SOUND LIKE SOMETHING WAS LOSS. AFTER THE SERVICE I WAS GIVEN THE PAPERWORK THAT STATED EVERY THING WAS FINE. WELL ON 3/14/2016 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE SMOOTHLY PAVED BUSY STREET THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE FOLLOWED BY A LOUD THUMP AND NEXT THING YOU KNOW THE CAR HAD FLIPPED ACROSS THREE LANES AND LANDED UP SIDE DOWN. I CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP I PURCHASE THE CAR FROM AND WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE SALESMEN AFTER TELLING HIM WHAT HAPPEN THAT, "THAT WAS A DEFECT" AND I NEED TO GET A LAWYER. ALL I WANT IS THE SOMEONE FROM FORD MOTOR THE INSPECT THE CAR. THE CRAZY PART IS THE AXLE, BRACKET, AND SUSPENSION ARE COVERED UNDER MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY BUT BECAUSE MY CAR FLIPPED I WAS TOLD I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE EVEN THOUGH THE THE FRONT AXLE, BRACKET AND WHEEL BROKE OFF THE CAR CAUSING IT TO FLIP. THE METAL FRAME EVEN BROKE, EVERYTHING WAS STILL ATTACKED TO FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL THAT BROKE OFF AND THE CAR WAS JUST DRIVING DOWN THE STREET NO BUMPS OR ANYTHING. NOW IF MY SO WOULD HAVE DIED AND WAS SEVERELY INJURED I GUESS THEN FORD MOTOR WOULD ISSUE A RECALL LIKE THEY DID FOR THE 2013 & 2014 FORD TAURUS WITH AXLE AND BRACKET DEFECTS.
