2024 Forest River Sandpiper Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

This RV is a Manufactured defect Nightmare through Estimates and Insurance Estimate and inspection have 15 defects from [XXX] with over 50 pictures showing Manufacturing defects and inspection from Progressive Insurance found over 53 itemize report with what was wrong with the trailer with over 100 pictures. We had to voluntary surrender this RV to Huntington National bank because no one would help us with the expense to fix this trailer and upon returning this trailer The heating unit of the climate control proceeded to go out and this was the finally thing that pushed me to surrender. Plus now the refrigerator will not open all the way up to remove drawers to clean refrigerator or stay open when needed. Upon pick up the rear bedroom slider would not go in so they pushed it in so they could tow it and is now broken. The driver was warned about the falling of the underneath of the rear trailer and all the problems we were having and he could see that this trailer for being 2 years old was falling apart! I already reported to you the underneath, of this trailer and you have the report! I don’t know what you can do with all this information and reports I was told to send this to you! One more thing if we would have been given an inspection before this trailer was delivered we would have taken this unit. We also had extended Warranty that the bank sent over because we were not given any warranty paperwork about this trailer and looking through was a waste of money and they would not fix manufacturing defects. Warranty says 1year but we thought we were protected under the law of 24,000 miles or 2 year which I believe is our warrant in our state? Forest River says it’s owner fault of manufacturing defects? warrant INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
