The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2003-2018 Forest River Berkshire, Charleston, Rockport, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Riverstone, Salem, Sandpiper, Sierra, Vengeance, Wildcat, Wildwood, XLR Boost, Cargo Mate, Continental Cargo, motorhomes, recreational trailers, toyhaulers, cargo trailers and restroom trailers and 2009-2018 Coachmen Mirada, Pursuit, Concord, Leprechaun, Freelander, Orion and Prism motorhomes, 2009-2017 Coachmen Apex and Catalina recreational trailers, and 2013-2017 Shasta Oasis and Revere recreational trailers, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Forest River will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on December 27, 2017. The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Sandpiper and Sierra recreational vehicles manufactured October 15, 2013, to July 13, 2015. The affected vehicles may be equipped with Certification labels with an inaccurate gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 567, "Certification."
The risk: Inaccurate weight information can mislead an owner as to the vehicle's weight carrying capacity which could result in vehicle overloading and a crash.
The remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a new set of corrected certification labels, free of charge. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-8386. Forest River's number for this recall is 03-07292015-0067.

The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Dynamax, 2014 Cardinal trailers, and 2015 Cedar Creek, Sierra and Sandpiper trailers. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.
The risk: If the rivet shears causing the quad step to fail, the step user may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.
The remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will remove the rivets and the step sections will be bolted together, free of charge. The recall began on June 11, 2015. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FOREST RIVER SIERRA FIFTH WHEEL. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS SLEEPING IN THE CAMPER, SMOKE WAS DETECTED IN THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE NEAR THE WIRING, COMING FROM THE SIDE OF THE BATTERY TO THE POWER CONVERTER. IN ADDITION, THE SMOKE ALARM FAILED TO ALERT THE OCCUPANTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DISCONNECT THE POWER FROM THE CONVERTER. THE CABINET WAS AFFECTED BY THE INTERNAL FIRE AND THE CONTENTS INSIDE WERE DAMAGED. IN ADDITION, THE HYDRAULIC LINES FOR THE SLIDE OUT JACK AND THE LEVELING SYSTEM WERE DAMAGED FROM THE FIRE. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE DEALER (FLAGG RV, 66 W BOYLSTON ST, WEST BOYLSTON, MA 01583, (800) 678-9278) AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT OFFERED TO COVER THE DEDUCTIBLE. THE MANUFACTURER FURTHER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED BY A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:FUEL RAIL

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a hard start or a no start. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code DTCs P0087, P0088, P0191 or P128E. Technician will need to follow all Service Information diagnose for the Diagnostic Trouble Code. If the current Service Information diagnostic has led to Fuel Injection Pump replacement, Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 must be inspected for magnetic metal debris. If there is a questionable amount of magnetic debris found on Pressure Regulator 1 remove the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor and/or Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 to inspect for magnetic metal debris. If technician will need to replace all of the parts listed under the latest version of PIP4949 found in the Service Forms section of Global Connect if debris is found. Clean and flush all fuel chassis lines, filter pipes, and other engine mounted fuel system pipes not replaced. Also the fuel filter housing must be cleaned with a new fuel filter installed. Then the fuel tank and fuel sender must be cleaned and flushed.
