AS PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN #18E050 THE AWNING ON THE RV TRAILER MAY EXTEND WHILE TRAILER IS IN MOTION. THE AWNING MANUFACTURER LCI IS AWARE OF THIS RECALL BY DID NOT INFORM MY DEALER ABOUT THE RECALL. I TRIED TO HAVE THE CONTROL MODULE REPLACED THROUGH THE DEALER BUT THEY DID NOT PERFORM THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE MODULE. I THEN TRIED TO HAVE THE MODULE REPLACED BY LCI AND THEY REQUIRED ME TO GO THROUGH A 3RD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDER TO HAVE THE MODULE REPLACED. THE 3RD PARTY SERVICE COULD NOT PERFORM THE REPLACEMENT AT A CONVENIENT TIME AND INSISTS THAT I DELIVER MY RV TO THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS FOR AN UNSPECIFIED TIME PERIOD. THE MODULE IS A PLUG IN DEVICE THAT REQUIRES LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TO REPLACE AND REQUIRING ME TO TAKE MY TRAILER OUT OF STORAGE AND ALLOW THEM TO KEEP IT FOR AN UNSPECIFIED TIME PERIOD IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE ORIGINAL DEALER HAD MY TRAILER FOR OVER 3 MONTHS AND DID NOT PERFORM THE REPLACEMENT. I HAD TO CANCEL VACATIONS DUE TO THE 1ST SERVICE ATTEMPT AND I WILL NOT JEOPARDIZE THE LOSS OF USE FOR A SECOND TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH THE BASIS FOR LCI'S DEMAND THAT I MUST HAVE THE REPLACEMENT DONE BY A 3RD PARTY IF THAT IS A TRUE REQUIREMENT. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES OF THE MODULE TO SHOW IT'S SIZE AND ACCESSIBILITY.

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER
Per the service bulletin from Dometic ?Dometic Corporation has identified a visual cosmetic defect that has occurred on our Dometic DM2652 refrigerators up in the freezer compartment. This does NOT occur on all units, but may be present on units with serial numbers starting with MB between 805xxxxx and 820XXXXX. The visual cosmetic defect in no way affects the performance, operation, safety, or function of the refrigerator and does not represent a non-compliance issue to one or more of the FMVSS standards or result in a risk of personal injury, death, vehicle crash, or property damage.?
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
