1998 FREIGHTLINER FLD120 RIGHT FRONT STEER TIRE BLEWOUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE UNIT AND LEFT FRONT SIDE OF THE HOOD. *BF (OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT # 10-0398-91)*JB UPDATED 09/13/10*BF UPDATED 09/28/10 *BF UPDATED VOQ 10/01/10
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT HIS FRONT LEFT WHEEL HUB AND TIRE COMPLETELY FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH AND WAS COMING TO A STOP. THE CONSUMER DID MANAGE TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS. THE OWNER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A SHIMMY ABOUT 50 MILES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED AND THE ABS LIGHT ON THE DASH AND THE WHEEL SPIN LIGHT WAS ON. ABOUT A QUARTER MILE BEFORE THIS HAPPENED THE OWNER SAW SMOKE EMITTING THE VEHICLE. *JB
