2001 GMC C/K Utility Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON WEDNESDAY SEPT. 3 2003 WE WERE TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON THE 210 FREEWAY IN THE CARPOOL LANE AT ABOUT 65-70MPH. THEN WITHOUT WARNING OUR DRIVERSIDE REAR TIRE BLEW. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND THANKFULLY THE CARS BEHIND ME LET ME OVER TO THE SHOULDER. THIS WAS THE SECOND OF THESE TIRES TO FAIL ON ME TWO MONTHS AGO, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE FAILED IN A SIMILAR FASHION. MY GMC SERVICE BODY 2500 TRUCK CAME BRAND NEW WITH THESE TIRES INSTALLED, AND HAVE TESTED FATE TWICE NOW BEFORE PUTTING 34,000 MILES ON THEM.*AK
