What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1999 GMC Pickup, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO GIVE THE CONSUMER THE NUMBER TO THE SEAT MANUFACTURER SO THAT HE CAN GET THE PART TO REPAIR THE SEAT. *AK *NLM

CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF AN AIR LEAK THROUGH THE CASTING OF THE REAR ALUMINUM WHEEL OF THE VEHICLE. BOTH WHEELS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DESIGN IS SUCH THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY IS SO CLOSE TO THE REAR WHEEL THAT SMALL ROCKS GET CAUGHT IN BETWEEN. THIS CAUSES GOUGES ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL DEEP ENOUGH TO CAUSE WHEEL FAILURE. *JG
